Find a comfortable position. Close your eyes. Make sure you sit very straight so you won't fall asleep. And focus on your breath. Try to gain some concentration. Now invite a holy being to be with you in your meditation. See them in front of you, Very beautiful, Very radiant, Very loving. Do a mental frustration by admiring their qualities. Make offerings to them. Confess in front of them anything that might be damaging now to your meditation. And rejoice in something beautiful that you've done. Ask them to help you with your meditation. See how happy they are that you are meditating. And of course they agree to help you. And now bring to mind a situation of yourself in the future. A situation where you normally would get upset or uncomfortable. Or a problem that's bothering you and it's just not going away. So see yourself in this situation. And like before, Imagine yourself sitting on this bed. And you in the present is sitting in front of your future you. And watching them. And so now see all the trouble, Whatever is bothering you, Your future you, In this unpleasant situation. And this is now the black smoke or black tar in your body, In your future body. And as before we go through the process of cleaning yourself up by your present you is using the breath as a palm to clean out all this smoke from your future you. You know and before you can be successful at doing that you need to remind yourself of what you're doing and why you're doing. You know get a good motivation for that. Which in this case is easy because it's you right and we all cherish ourselves. So just determine that you're going to help your future you as best as you can right now. And remove from them that smoke first by concentrating it into the center of the chest into a little black olive. And then continue using your breath to pull out this black olive out from your body through the breathing tube outside into the air. Now refocus on the flame in your heart, In your own heart, In your present heart. And that flame is your selfishness and your ignorance and it's burning bright in your heart. And when I say go you're going to inhale all the black smoke and in just one breath it's going to come into you, Touch the flame and evaporate, Dissipate, Finished, Terminated and also the flame is extinguished. So do it now, Go. The white wisp of smoke goes away and your heart is filled with golden happy light. You rejoice in what you've done. And you're sending out this joy in the form of the golden loving light. So it's filling your body and it's going out through your pores, Through your openings. It's surrounding you and your future you. And as they inhale it, It gets into their body and it fills them with joy and happiness. So take a few breaths to do that. And this you do on the out breath. And see, Look at yourself, Your future self. See how he or she looks like. See how light they've become, How happy they've become. And rejoice because you have done it. You've removed your future suffering successfully. And now refocus on your Lama, On the holy being in front of you. Write them in and see them coming into your heart, Sitting on this beautiful throne that you prepared for them in your heart. And ask them to always stay with you there. And of course they will. So you can open your eyes.

I think it is best to do meditations 1 and 2 first if you are not familiar with Tonglen. Short, intense. I loved "the black olive of suffering"! Thank you♥
