Hi there,
I'm Miss Lauren and I'm here to help guide you through a simple exercise to help you feel calm and ready for rest.
Are you ready to get nice and cozy for a good night's sleep?
Let's take a few minutes to help your whole body feel super relaxed and calm.
First,
Let's find a comfy position.
Lie down in your bed,
Pull the covers up,
Close your eyes,
And let's take a big,
Slow breath in.
And now,
Let it out.
Let's do that again.
Breathe in,
And let it all the way out.
Notice how each breath helps you feel a little more relaxed.
Now,
Imagine you're at the very top of your head.
Feel all the little muscles in your head and face.
Let them get soft and relaxed,
As if they're melting like a warm scoop of ice cream.
Feel the calm spreading down from your head,
Across your forehead,
And around your eyes.
Imagine any tightness just melting away.
Now,
Move down to your neck and shoulders.
Sometimes we hold tension there,
As if we're carrying a big backpack.
Imagine taking that backpack off and letting your shoulders sink down,
Getting looser and softer.
Now,
Let's keep moving down your body,
Nice and slowly.
Let your arms feel heavy and relaxed,
As if they're resting on soft pillows.
From your shoulders all the way down to your fingertips,
Feel the calmness spreading.
Now,
To your chest and belly.
Take a gentle breath in,
And let it out.
Take another gentle breath in,
And let it out.
Feeling your chest and tummy get calm and still,
Your body knows it's time for rest.
As you breathe,
Imagine the calmness moving down to your legs.
Feel your thighs,
Knees,
And calves soften,
Like they're sinking into your bed.
Down to your ankles,
And all the way to your toes.
Feel your whole body becoming relaxed and peaceful.
Now picture yourself floating on a soft,
Fluffy cloud.
It's warm and cozy,
Holding you gently,
Helping you drift off to sleep.
Take one more deep breath,
And as you breathe out,
Let your whole body relax even more.
You're safe,
Calm,
And ready for sweet dreams.
I love to end by saying Namaste.
It means I see the goodness in you,
And you see the goodness in me.
So,
Namaste,
And goodnight.
