Make the daily routine of washing your face a ritual of renewal by sending positive energy down through all your cellular layers as you deeply,

Meaningfully,

And lovingly cleanse your skin.

Welcome to Cleansing Qi,

An all-of-life meditation designed to transform the mundane,

Daily task of washing your face,

Performed mindlessly much of the time,

Into a toxin-eliminating,

Radiance-producing,

Total energy cleanse that bubbles up through every layer,

Lifting a deep-seated inner glow to the surface and brightening every square inch of your skin,

While simultaneously refreshing your mind,

Relaxing your body,

And rejuvenating your spirit.

Let's get started.

Find a comfortable place to sit,

Either on the floor or in a chair.

And if you're in a chair,

Uncross your legs and put both feet flat on the floor.

Sit up tall,

Your back and spine straight.

Relax the small muscles in your neck that surround your cervical vertebrae,

And feel your head relax and your spine assume a resting state.

Lift your chin up.

Look out at the world,

Not down at your feet.

And close your eyes or lower your gaze.

Relax your shoulders and let your cares roll down and away,

Feeling your arms soften.

Take a deep breath through your nose,

And exhale out of your mouth.

And again,

Inhale and exhale.

Notice the rhythm and cadence of your breath,

And begin to regulate your breathing evenly,

Slowing it down,

And finding a comfortable rhythm using the built-in metronome in the back of your mind to inhale to a count that fits,

And exhale to that same count.

Continue breathing to this rhythm as you relax and let go of the stress you are holding.

Feel tension slip away.

The tightness around your temples and forehead dissipate.

And as you let go,

Form an intention to reach beyond your usual idea of washing your face,

And with your powers of visualization,

To go deep down through every layer of your skin and lift the positive energy of your inner light to the surface to let it shine.

Now,

In your mind's eye,

Imagine approaching your sink and watching your hands reach for the faucet,

Turning it on.

You watch as water streams down,

And reaching in,

Cup your hands to feel it turn from cool to warm,

Pausing,

Lifting gentle heat to your face,

Feeling the warmth.

Your pores begin to give way,

Releasing tension,

Relaxing,

Opening up,

And accepting this warmth.

You visualize holding a soft white washcloth in your hands,

And in it,

Soapy goodness that embraces your skin like a haven of hope.

Inhaling deeply,

And exhaling fully,

Soft circles motion warm foamy lather to seep in,

Bubble up,

And reach down,

Emulsifying,

Unearthing,

Unclogging,

Flushing out toxins and debris,

And purifying each cell,

Sending clean,

Clarifying,

Positive energy in every direction.

Feeling your cleansing chi,

This clean energy,

Expand and permeate beyond what you can see into the interior regions of your cellular structure.

You can almost feel a visceral tingling as you lift lumens of positivity to the surface of your skin,

Defining and projecting radiance on every square inch.

Breathing you watch in your mind's eye as your hands gently cup warm water and lift it to your face,

Freshly rinsing away the soapy residue that holds remnants of oil and dirt,

And elements of wear and tear.

And in this moment,

You lovingly embrace your skin,

Its beauty,

Its freshness.

Looking for a soft dry towel and pressing it to your face,

You exhale,

Fully engaged in the moment,

Immersed in relaxation,

Feeling a radiance wash over you from head to toe.

You feel new from the inside out,

Cleansed through and through,

With a deep vibrancy renewed,

Bright new cells exposed,

Your restoration complete and intact for all the world to see.

Inhaling through your nose,

Take a breath,

Filling your lungs and diaphragm fully,

Completely.

And in command,

Slowly exhale out of your mouth,

Letting relaxation spill over every cell in a wave of relief,

Feeling tensions and toxins wash away,

Feeling the positive energy that flows deep down inside rise up through all your layers,

Lifting your inner glow outward to illuminate every square inch of skin.

Let your light shine for the world to see.

And now bring your awareness back into the room where you are.

Feel your body sitting in its position and notice the rhythm of your breath,

The relaxation streaming through your muscles,

The feeling of an expansive and open mind and a radiant luminosity emanating from your heart.

Bring your attention back,

Your breath back,

Open your eyes or lift your gaze.

And tomorrow when you step to the sink to perform the everyday task of washing your face,

Remember cleansing chi and your ability to transform this simple act into a health-infusing,

Confidence-producing exercise that will deeply,

Meaningfully and lovingly produce the positive energy you can feel on the inside and a luminous glow you will see on the outside.
