Welcome.
Welcome to this tree meditation.
Before we begin,
Take some time to settle down and make yourself comfortable.
Make yourself as comfortable as you can with your back straight,
But not too rigid.
And when you are ready,
Close your eyes.
As you settle,
Allow yourself soft,
Easy breath.
Gently in and out.
Ease into each breath naturally without trying to force or control.
Just soft,
Easy breath.
Now,
Imagine.
Imagine that you are wandering through a large verdant forest.
Bring your awareness to your surroundings,
The freshness of the air,
The earth beneath you covered with red and gold leaves.
Notice the light peeking through the branches and all the sounds around you.
Take a deep breath and allow your mind to follow the woodsy air coming into and out of your lungs.
And see if you can imagine that this air is pure fresh air coming from the trees that cleanses and heals every cell as it moves through your body.
And as you walk peacefully,
Listen to the trees rustling.
Watch each one of them.
Notice the shapes,
The colors,
All these shades of green that have the power to put your mind at rest.
See how imposing the trees are and grounded into the earth by their roots and into the sky by their branches.
Feel the powerful energy dancing around you.
Is there one that catches your eyes more than the others?
Look around you.
It is said that the oak is powerful and strong,
That the pine gives love,
That the beach brings energy,
The birch is the tree of light.
Let your heart speak.
Let your intuition guide you.
Here it is in front of you.
How does it look like?
Touch is drunk and notice how its bark feels under your palm.
Imagine how long this tree has stood there despite the harsh weather and time.
Silently acknowledge its great majesty.
Now find a spot to sit at its base which are back up against it.
Rest comfortably and breathe peacefully.
Surrender.
And savour any smell that you can notice.
Inhale with your nose and exhale with your mouth.
Feel the texture of the bark against your back.
And breathe.
Now bring your attention to the roots of the tree which are growing out from around you to either side of you and deep into the ground,
Deep into the soil seeking the dampness and the moisture.
Picture these roots finding nourishment and sustaining,
Supporting itself.
Feel the trees vitality as it brings nourishment up into its trunk and through its branches.
Now imagine that there is no barrier between you,
Your body and the tree.
That the molecules that make up the tree and your body are able to merge.
Imagine you have become one so that the energy of the earth absorbed by the tree is passing onto you.
With each breath picture the energy flowing up through the roots into the trunk and transferring from the trunk into you.
With each breath feel the tree's strong and healing energy flowing into your body,
Spreading everywhere to your core,
To your limbs,
To your cells,
Travelling up to your spine,
Flowing into your neck and your head.
Breathe and feel as strong and supported and grounded as the tree itself.
Take a moment to breathe in that energy.
Now look up and bring your awareness to the sun rays permeating through the leaves and the breeze waving the leaves softly in the air.
Imagine each individual leaf soaking in the life giving energy of the sun.
Imagine this energy flowing from each leaf down to the branches,
Down to the trunk and transferring from the tree to your back into you.
As you breathe the energy of the sun is being drawn to the tree into your body.
Feel the warmth and strength and infinite possibility that this sunlight,
This energy is bringing you.
Ponder for a moment your gratitude to this tree for sharing the energy of the earth and the energy of the sun with you,
Helping you be strong and grounded.
Remember the tree will always be here and that you are free to come and sit with it anytime you wish to transcend that barrier created by the mind.
And as you are ready to leave carry the visit with you inside your heart.
Remember that humankind can only benefit from nature when it works in harmony with it.
Now go and enjoy your day with a renewed grounding strength.
