Welcome to this meditation with the element of air.
Take a moment to set your intention to connect with the air for clarity and insight.
Begin to deepen and slow your breath.
Visualize yourself at the top of a mountain,
Looking out at the blue sky that extends before you and above you.
The air here is crisp,
Cool,
And clear.
Your perception is sharp,
Your sense is acutely aware of all that lies around and below you.
Feel a gentle breeze on your face and in it you can feel the movement of the element of air.
As your perception continues to expand,
You hear the sharp call of a hawk or an eagle.
You notice this beautiful winged raptor circling overhead.
Invite it to come closer to you and ask if it will guide you up into the skies.
As your winged guide approaches,
Notice how smoothly he or she floats through the air,
Coming to rest beside you on the mountaintop.
Ask for permission to mount or merge with this great bird.
And as your winged guide pushes off and into the sky,
Feel yourself lifting off together,
Soaring up higher and higher and higher,
Circling above the earth.
Enjoy the feeling of weightlessness as you glide through the air with your winged guide.
Notice the earth far,
Far below and how broad your perspective has become.
And even though you are high above it all,
You can still see details clearly.
Shift your awareness to something that you've had trouble understanding.
Perhaps you'd like to know why a particular challenge has appeared in your life,
Or what you're meant to learn from it.
Ask this winged guide to show you.
Notice the landscape below you shifting,
Beginning to reveal more about the issue on your mind.
What is the meaning behind it?
What can you see now from this higher perspective?
What lessons are you learning here?
If there is still something that you don't understand,
Ask your winged guide.
What wisdom do they have to share with you?
And now you begin to descend,
Returning slowly to the mountaintop where you began.
The rocks and a few trees come into focus.
Your feet gently touch down on the earth once more.
Thank your winged guide for his or her wisdom,
And for sharing the experience of soaring through the skies with you.
Keep this sense of clarity and levity.
This is the blessing of the element of air.
