Hello and welcome to this experiment of living from love.

It's an experiment that I'm running for 30 days and the invitation is that you join me.

My name's Liz Scott.

For 30 days in a row,

This is day one,

I'm going to share what I learned when I spent 30 days living from a place of love rather than fear.

Each evening I reflected on my day and wrote up what I had learned and I'm going to share each and every day a little nugget of wisdom that I learned as I engaged in this particular experiment and the invitation is that you join me.

I hope you join me and together for 30 days we both live from a place of love rather than fear.

I came across this as an idea when I saw somebody at a conference giving a talk about living from love rather than fear and it really inspired me.

I wondered what it would be like to have that as a central focus day in and day out.

Today I'm going to explore what is love and what is fear and I guess the thing to start off with is to explain that I'm not talking about love as in a romantic kind of love.

I'm not exploring what it is to meet somebody and to fall in love.

The love I am talking about in this experiment can be described as an umbrella term that includes words like compassion,

Joy,

Gratitude,

Friendship,

Peace,

Patience.

These are all words and feelings that describe what I mean by love and the same is true of fear.

When I talk of fear I'm not really talking about the kind of fear you might have if you read a ghost story or you're watching a horror movie.

I'm talking about fear as a collective term to explain the experience of unsettled thinking.

It might be frustration or anger or anxiety or stress or guilt or overwhelm.

There are lots of different ways that fear shows up and the idea of the experiment is that you and I each day keep reminding ourselves of what it is like to live from a place of love rather than fear.

What is it like?

Now I'm not advocating that we get rid of fear from our lives.

I don't think that's how it works.

I see that a better way of engaging this experiment is to see that both love and fear are present.

Love is actually the core of who we are.

It's what we're actually made of and fear is the representation of thoughts and thinking and anxieties and worries that arise.

It's a bit like imagining that love is the blue sky.

Imagine you're looking at this beautiful blue sky and fear are the thoughts,

The anxieties,

The worries,

The guilt,

The frustration,

The lack of confidence.

Fear comes like the clouds that obscures the blue sky but the blue sky always,

Always remains.

So the way that this experiment works is that rather than trying to banish fear or rather than trying to get rid of the clouds,

We're bringing our awareness back to the love that is already present.

It's like a grounded feeling.

It's a sense of patience,

Of peace,

Of gratitude,

Of joy.

So the experiment is very much about noticing first of all when you feel a sense of instability and unsettled thought coming your way and when you notice it bring your awareness back to that grounded sense of who you truly are,

That sense of love.

Keep your eyes open for the blue sky that is always present and my curiosity is what it is like to habitually remind myself and bring myself back to that place of love.

What might turn up differently in my life if I live from a place of love and I would be so curious if you were to explore that as well.

So if you want to join me on the experiment I'd love to hear your comments and how you get on and if you're joining me on this experiment it's just a little reminder when we talk of living from love rather than fear we're talking of bringing your awareness back to that place of love in your life.

It's not about getting rid of fears,

It's not about trying to banish thoughts and feelings,

It's about firstly noticing and then bringing your awareness back to love.

I hope you'll join me and each day I'll give you a daily update of what I've learned from living from a place of love rather than fear.

Will be an interesting 30 days ahead, We have so much goodness and love in our world but we seem to be more focused on the fears.

Looking forward to joining you for the next 30 days Liz as I would love to learn more about living from a place of love rather than fear as I have probably found myself living from a place of fear and worry quite often thru my life. Thank you Liz 🩷
