Welcome.
My name is Lou Redman.
Thank you so much for practicing with me.
One of my core archetypes is to be a messenger.
That,
Like I am doing now,
There is something that when I am sharing a message of inspiration,
Helping people to connect and more so remember the possibility and the potential and the life force,
The divinity that lives inside of them and how when they're tapped into that,
How so many beautiful things unfold in their life.
That when I'm doing that,
Just like I am doing right here right now,
I feel so on purpose.
I feel like I am being used in the way that God put me on earth to be used.
And it's a beautiful feeling.
And it's something I want everyone to experience in their own way.
And it doesn't mean you're gonna be doing what I'm doing.
You're gonna find your own path.
And what this meditation is about is actually finding the clues that have always been there and are there at all times.
That life is giving you clues of what the work is,
What the energy that makes you come most alive is.
And so the question is,
How do we listen to those clues?
And it's actually something that's super,
Super practical,
Yet also intangible.
And this came really clear when a friend and fellow teacher,
Charles Freely,
Shared a video of the musician,
Carlos Santana,
Talking about how to know the music is actually good.
And that is if it's giving you chills.
And that is such a great compass for everyone.
That where do you get chills,
Both in what you're viewing,
Because there's something that's resonating with you,
There's something that's saying,
Hey,
This is this is for you.
That your system,
Your soul wants more of this,
How do you bring more of this in your life?
And then when you're pursuing something,
When you're working on something,
Maybe it's a hobby,
A craft,
Maybe it's talking to someone,
A colleague,
And you're just noticing like,
Wow,
I'm noticing these chills here,
I'm feeling really connected,
That that's like God,
People call it God bumps,
Like God saying,
Hey,
Listen to this,
Listen to this,
This is something that's important for you,
Stay in this.
And so today's meditation is to help you find those clues,
Find those chills to realize what are the things that please you most,
Because it's so rewarding when we're feeling those chills,
We feel so connected.
And that is the essence of when we're doing the work that we're here to do,
Is we're feeling connected.
And it's not about the outcome.
It's not about getting anything.
It's about being in that flow and in that state.
Alright,
So let's get into this practice today.
And go ahead and shift gears if you have and close your eyes.
And relax your shoulders,
Relax your jaw,
Feel the weight of your body get heavy.
Feel the support beneath you.
Noticing the cadence of your breath and allowing its rhythm to help you center,
Help you slow down and help you attune.
Sometimes to find the clues of our purpose of the work that we're here to do.
It's much more a process of releasing,
Quieting,
Slowing down.
Then of adding,
Trying to figure things out,
Making things happen.
It's putting ourselves as the receiver to the information that is always there.
And so allowing your breath to really let your body,
Your mind,
Your heart be in coherence together to receive all that you're here to receive.
Doing work that is fulfilling,
That's pleasing to us.
A way to access that is to notice when we have chills,
When that energy is moving through our body,
When it's highlighting something that's meaningful and important and connecting to us.
And I do believe that there is some divinity in that experience as people do call it God bumps.
And so in this way,
Again,
It's very practical.
It's like,
Do I have chills with this?
Do I not?
But it's also intangible because it's like we can't force it.
So the invitation here,
If it resonates,
Is to open and connect to the source of chills.
You might call it God.
You might call it something else.
However you experience the mystery,
The inviting that presence here with you.
Maybe it's through a prayer or a way that you evoke that connection personally.
Letting that energy breathe through you,
Maybe taking a few deeper breaths in and out.
And maybe notice a deeper connection right now.
And maybe it might feel a little flat.
And both are welcome.
This is a practice of attuning and experimenting.
Sometimes it can be as simple as calling on God and wow,
We're in it.
And sometimes we need other places and inspirations.
And so to work with that,
Imagine a song or movie or piece of art that moves you.
Something that when you hear it,
Or watch it,
It reminds you of both your humanity and your divinity.
I think those two are actually much closer because they're speaking on something that's really true.
And so if it's a song,
Maybe you kind of start singing it to yourself,
Something that really resonates,
Something that maybe you go to when you need that reminder or that comfort,
That connection.
Or maybe it's a movie scene that comes to your mind that is really moving.
Whatever this piece of art that evokes chills in you,
See if you can allow it to resonate right now.
And then let's take a breath in together.
And as you breathe out,
Letting go of the song or the scene.
And imagine that you are now looking back at your career or work journey.
Seeing when in your life that started.
Seeing your intentions,
Maybe different losses that you had or risks that you took.
And just start to go through the years of where that journey has led you.
And as you do,
Notice what comes up inside of you.
Maybe there's a feeling of accomplishment,
Satisfaction,
Joy.
And maybe there's anger,
Frustration,
Regret.
Welcome whatever is present.
And whatever your journey was,
Whether you think it was the most aligned path or not,
See if you can find the moments that filled you with either chills,
Love,
Connection,
Joy,
Meaning.
And even if it might have been a difficult or grueling job or list of jobs,
Can you really hone in on one moment that filled your heart with one of these qualities?
It's similar to how you picked a song and experienced it.
I'd like you to go into that moment to feel what that moment was like now.
I should say if you're having a tough time finding a moment of connecting,
That's totally normal.
And as you feel and connect with this moment,
Just see what does it inform you about the work that you want to do now or you're here to do now or maybe you are doing now.
Maybe there's a moment that came up where you were mentoring someone and you're like,
Yeah,
Wow,
That was actually really sweet in this relational support to someone.
Maybe there was a moment where you were speaking in front of your company and there's a sense of growth and connection.
Maybe you were deep in an Excel spreadsheet and just loving getting lost in the numbers.
Whatever it was,
What does it tell you about the work you're here to do now?
And again,
There might be an answer and there might not be.
Go ahead now and imagine yourself 10 years from now,
So in the future.
That self knows all the things in the past that brought you love and joy and connection.
It also knows your next 10 years that have allowed you to fully express your gifts and the things that you love.
See that version of you in front of you.
What do they look like?
And then ask them,
What wisdom do you have to share with me about where to put my energy?
They have a message for you about where your heart really lies.
Really see if you can take that in.
And then thank them for their wisdom.
Seeing them go and again coming back to right here,
Right now.
Taking in all the things that you received or didn't receive today.
The energy of the song or movie,
The moments of the past,
The wisdom of your future self.
Bring all that energy into right now.
Ask yourself,
What would be something that is fulfilling,
Meaningful,
Heartful that you can do or create right now?
What project can you pursue?
What offering can you make?
What would be pleasing to you?
What would give you chills and be fulfilling for its own sake?
Feel into that right now.
And then connect and just notice,
Is there anything that's getting in the way of you creating this?
Any place you're not fully trusting yourself?
And not that we're going to do the work to work with it right now,
But just notice that's often there too.
Honoring those parts,
Honoring the resistance that comes up.
That's part of what makes it rewarding,
Is moving through those things.
And so if they're there,
Just give a bow.
I see you.
And remember,
Stay connected to what lies in your heart,
What is wanting to be expressed.
And then let's take one last breath together.
And letting go.
