So taking this time to get yourself really comfortable.
Making sure that you're cozy and warm and that if you need a cushion behind your knees or behind your head or you prefer to lay on your side or your front,
You can just make sure you're really comfortable.
And on the summer morning here in Glasgow,
It's raining.
As I sit here,
I can hear the rain with all of the green leaves on the Sycamore limeflower trees out in the back lane.
So as we ease our way through summer towards harvest time,
The element of water is the element of change in transition.
In Glasgow,
We get a lot of water.
And so if we embrace the qualities of the water element,
The fluidity,
Its adaptability,
And yet also its strength,
You think of the shape of the land carved deep by rivers and glaciers.
So settling the landscape of your body down on the mat,
Allowing the full weight to sink down into the earth.
The flow of the easy breath coming in and out as if like water,
Streams,
Rivers,
The breath eddying and trickling around all of the dips,
The valleys,
The little curves and the curls of the body.
In summertime,
We focus on connection,
Like a recognition of ourselves through our family,
Our friends,
Activities that fill our hearts with joy and with gratitude.
When we connect,
There's a shared resonance.
So inviting the awareness to flow with the resonance around the body.
In this simple act of connecting with ourselves in the present,
There are many gifts.
So imagining the drop of water,
Imagining tiny little hue drops,
Just one,
Minding the center of the forehead and the eyebrows.
So light,
You can imagine the clarity and the shine and the myriad of reflections in that tiny hue drop alone,
The whole world reflected in its surface.
And bringing the awareness to in between the collarbones,
The soft space there,
Another hue drop.
Tiny hue drops out at the left shoulder,
The left elbow,
The wrist,
The tip of the thumb and all of the fingers in turn.
Coming back to the dew drop at the wrist and the elbow and the shoulder in between the two collarbones,
Then over to the right shoulder,
Tiny sparkling dew drop just there,
Down to one at the elbow and one at the wrist,
At the tip of the right thumb and all of the fingers in turn.
Coming back to the wrist,
The elbow,
The shoulder,
Back to the center of the collarbones,
Coming down the body to the center of the chest,
A little dew drop at the heart,
One on the left breast,
One at the heart,
One at the right breast.
Coming back to the dew drop in the heart and down the body to the navel and then to the center of the pelvis and over to the left hip,
A dew drop there.
Coming down the leg to the knee,
The ankle and all of the toes on the left foot,
The big toe,
The second toe,
The third and the fourth and the fifth toes.
Coming back up to the dew drop at the ankle,
Knee and hip,
That in the center of the pelvis and over to the right hip,
Tiny sparkling dew drop just there.
Down the leg placing dew drops at the knee,
At the ankle and at the tips of the toes,
The left big toe,
The second toe,
The third and the fourth and the fifth toes.
Coming back up to the ankle,
The knee,
The hip,
The center of the pelvis,
The dew drop at the navel like a diamond,
The dew drop at the heart,
The dew drop in the center of the collarbones and the dew drop in between the eyebrows.
And on the inhale,
Taking the awareness from that dew drop in between the eyebrows to the back of the head and on the exhale coming back to the dew drop in the eyebrow center.
And when we take the awareness into the back of the head,
Just inviting the eyebrow center to soften and relax.
Becoming aware of our own resonance in this very moment.
The myriad of sensations that make up our physical body,
Our emotional body,
Our mind and our spirit.
And if you're a visual person,
You might like to imagine different colors and if you're a musical person,
Different sounds.
If you're a sensing person,
Just homing in on how you feel right now.
And then starting to deepen the breath a little bit,
Preparing ourselves to come to the end of a very simple practice of your Vanidra inspired by the rain here in Glasgow.
What do you need to listen to today?
How can we embody the quality of water,
Deep listening today?
You're feeling so connected,
Starting to bring movements into fingers and toes.
And then taking the arms all the way overhead,
Giving the body a really good stretch.
And then on the exhale,
Hugging the knees and rocking from side to side.
This very simple practice of your Vanidra is now over.
This simple practice of your Vanidra is now complete.
Thank you very much for listening.
