This short poem explores the timeless question: what is the meaning of life? Rather than searching for answers outside ourselves, this piece invites you to turn inward, to listen to the quiet knowing of the heart. It’s about discovering that meaning is not something to be held or chased, but something we create and feel in each unfolding moment.

What is meaning?

What does it mean to be asking?

What is the meaning of life?

What even is meaning?

And what even is life?

I mine my heart for answers as it somehow seems to know if I have found meaning or where I should go looking.

If I try to hold on to meaning,

There's never enough.

But the more meaning I give to someone else,

The more I have for myself.

Meaning is in the eye of the beholder.

My inner eye must look within to find the wellspring of compassion from where I create things,

Ideas,

Connections,

Or a new way.

When I create,

Meaning won't be far.

And so I've found meaning is a feeling.

And feelings come and go.

I will not chase it.

I will just watch.

And let this game of life unfold,

One precious moment at a time.
