If you're feeling stressed,
Overwhelmed,
Or tense,
This time is for you.
Find a comfortable seated position or lie down,
Whatever feels better.
Gently close your eyes.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and release it softly through your mouth.
Again,
Deep inhale and gently exhale.
Allow your breathing to settle into a natural rhythm.
Feeling this surface beneath you,
Notice that in this moment,
You are safe.
There's nothing you need to fix right now.
Nothing you need to solve.
Just breathe.
Begin to inhale to a count of four and exhale to a count of six.
I will guide you.
Exhale everything out of your mouth.
Inhale two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale two,
Three.
Continue at your own pace.
As the longer exhales,
Tell your body it is safe to relax.
Continue counting quietly to yourself.
Now relax into your breath and repeat this on the inhale.
God,
You are here.
And on the exhale,
I release this to you.
Inhale.
God,
You are here.
Exhale.
I release this to you.
Continue at your own pace and allow your shoulders to soften.
Allow your face to relax.
Allow your arms and hands to release and relax into your breath.
As you continue to relax into your body,
Imagine the tension draining away.
Imagine the tension releasing from every fiber of your being as you soften your chest.
Relax your belly and completely release into this moment.
There is nothing you need to hold on to as you continue to relax your hips.
Relax your legs.
Relax your feet.
Feel your entire body growing heavier,
More supported,
More at ease.
Now gently bring to mind whatever has been weighing on you.
No judgment,
Just notice.
Maybe it's a conversation,
A responsibility,
Or something you're unsure about.
Just notice what it is.
No attachment.
And imagine placing this concern into God's hands.
You do not have to carry it alone.
Listen to these words.
Do not be anxious about anything.
But in every situation,
By prayer and petition,
With thanksgiving,
Present your requests to God.
And the peace of God,
Which surpasses all understanding,
Will guard your hearts and your minds.
Let those words settle into you.
The peace of God.
Guarding your heart.
Guarding your mind.
I trust you with this.
I release what I cannot control.
I receive your peace.
Silently say these words.
I trust you with this.
I release what I cannot control.
I receive your peace.
Now notice that your breath is softer and slower.
Notice that your body is relaxed and you feel more calm.
You may not have solved everything,
But you've shifted from striving to surrendering.
From tension to trust.
Take one more long,
Slow,
Deep inhale.
You are not alone.
You are supported.
You are guided.
Carry this peace with you throughout the rest of your day.
