Find a comfortable position,
Either seated or reclined.
Use pillows or cushions to support yourself so your body can fully relax.
When you're settled,
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale fully through your mouth.
Take another full breath in and exhale.
Allow your breath to return to its normal rhythm and feel your body relax.
Think about something that makes you happy.
It can be someone that you know,
A place you like to go,
Or something that you'd love to do.
Anything that makes you smile.
Notice how that smile feels,
How it changes the feeling of your mouth,
Your cheeks,
Even your eyes.
Feel the smile across your entire face,
Up to your forehead,
Around your ears,
And down under your jaw.
Feel the smile travel down your neck,
Across your collarbone to your shoulders,
Down your upper arms,
Into your elbows,
Down to your wrists,
And your hands.
Feel the smile in each of your fingers.
Move the smile back up your arms and into your chest.
Feel the smile travel down your chest,
Warming the front and back of your body.
Feel it move past your ribs,
Into your pelvis,
Out towards your hips,
And down each leg.
Feel as the smile moves past your thighs,
Knees,
Shins,
Ankles,
Into your feet,
And into each toe.
As you inhale,
Draw the smile all the way from your toes back up to your nose.
Feel that you're breathing the smile in through your nose,
Down through your trachea,
And into your lungs.
Feel the smile in the walls of your lungs,
Where it's absorbed into your bloodstream and moves into the heart.
Feel your smile move throughout your body as your heart beats,
