Make yourself as comfortable as you possibly can,
Either seated or lying down,
And gently close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in,
Letting go of any tension or distractions as you exhale.
Let's set a simple intention for this meditation,
To connect deeply with your heart,
Nurturing it with love and kindness.
Find that rhythm of deep breathing that feels really natural and nourishing for you.
Now bring your attention to your heart,
The centre of your chest,
That field of energy where you feel all of your emotions,
That place that Hafiz called your thousand-stringed instrument because it plays all the emotional notes of your life,
And within the field of your heart,
Visualise a soft glowing light there,
A beautiful healing light radiating out of your heart.
With each breath,
Feel this light expanding,
Filling your chest with warmth and compassion.
Let this light radiate love and peace,
Both for yourself and for others.
Begin to connect with your heart as you would with a dear friend.
Silently say to your heart,
I'm here with you,
I accept you just as you are.
Allow these words to reach your heart,
Feeling its response as a sense of warmth and peace.
Whisper softly,
Thank you dear heart,
Thank you for all that you're doing for me,
And for the next few moments,
Feel a deep sense of gratitude for your heart,
For everything it's doing for you,
Allowing you to feel the richness of life.
Take a moment to truly honour your heart,
And honour the gift of having a human heart.
Now turn your attention inwards,
And listen to your heart.
Listen deeply to anything that your heart is trying to communicate to you.
Ask your heart,
Is there anything you wish to share with me?
Listen deeply to any messages that arise from the heart,
Allowing your heart to speak without expectation.
Take a final deep breath,
Feeling gratitude for this moment,
And for any love that's in your heart.
Gently bring awareness to your body,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes softly,
Carrying this connection and warmth with you into the rest of your day.
