Snippets of Wisdom number 78 Familiarize your mind with self-praise Do you practice self-praise?

Or do you practice self-criticism?

Which is more familiar to your mind?

Did you know your mind can't believe both at the same time?

Our minds only feel safe with the familiar and will run far away from anything unfamiliar.

That's the same mechanism that kept us safe when there were gotchas out there in the wild trying to eat us.

Our minds will believe what we dominantly practice.

Again,

Our minds don't like the unfamiliar because it feels unsafe.

But whatever feels familiar feels safe.

It feels normal and our minds crave normalcy.

If you want to have better outcomes and enjoy life,

Familiarize your mind with self-praise so it will feel safe and love you back.

Abraham Hicks goes so far as to identify self-appreciation with the essence of Source Energy.

Self-appreciation and self-praise are who we are as extensions of Source.

It's our essence,

Our core being.

Self-criticism is far,

Far,

Far from the essence of who Source is.

Source and our inner beings will never even look at self-criticism.

That's how far away that vibration is from who we are.

When we criticize ourselves,

We are in absolute disagreement with what Source and our inner beings know,

Think,

And feel about who we are.

We know this by how we feel when we criticize ourselves.

That bad feeling indicates a poor connection with our inner beings.

If you want a better connection with Source,

Practice self-praise and self-appreciation.

I say practice because you must repeat self-praise over and over to wear a path in your mind that becomes safely familiar.

The self-critical path in your mind will begin to fill in and disappear as the lush grass of praise grows over it.

How do we practice self-praise and self-appreciation when we don't yet believe it?

We may need to offer bridging words that assist our minds to begin to believe in its safety.

A bridging affirmation may sound like,

I'm beginning to believe that I am love and joy embodied.

Or,

I'm coming to understand that I am kind and compassionate to all I meet.

Use this technique until you begin to familiarize your mind with these new beliefs.

Another way to speed up your mind's familiarity with self-praise is to add EFT tapping or bilateral stimulation while repeating your affirmations of praise.

Bonus points if you speak to your self-praise lovingly in the mirror.

Your mind will love its newfound familiarity with self-praise and feel safe.
