Welcome.
I'm really glad you're here because tonight is not about effort.
It's not about doing this right.
It's about holding and allowing your body and mind to drift out of holding and into rest.
And as you prepare for sleep,
This practice gently combines breath awareness,
Progressive body relaxation,
And healing affirmations.
All of this is here to support your nervous system as it moves from alertness into restoration.
This meditation is an invitation,
And I invite you to silently repeat the following affirmations to let your system know that you are here to care for it.
Let's begin.
I am safe now.
I can let go.
I don't need to stay on guard.
I don't have to force healing.
I don't have to imagine anything perfectly.
I don't have to stay awake.
Simply listening is enough.
As we move through the meditation,
Your mind may drift.
Your thoughts may come and go.
If you fall asleep at any point,
That is not a failure.
That is your body doing exactly what it needs right now.
Tonight,
You are creating an inner environment that supports healing by choosing gentleness,
Compassion,
And rest.
If you're not already settled into your bed,
Go ahead and get comfortable.
Allow yourself to shift,
Adjust,
Or move so you can be as relaxed as possible.
There is no correct position,
Only the one that feels the most supportive to you right now.
If it feels good,
Let your legs rest uncrossed and your arms fall naturally by your sides or rest gently over your body.
Feel the surface beneath you.
The mattress is holding your weight.
The sheets are cool against your skin.
Appreciate the quiet presence of the room.
There is nothing you need to accomplish tonight.
Know where you need to go.
Nothing you need to become.
Take a slow,
Steady breath in through your nose.
Let the breath expand your chest and then feel it move into your belly.
With your next inhale,
Pause gently at the top for three,
Two,
One.
Then allow your breath to release naturally,
Comfortably.
No need to push.
No effort needed here.
Inhale again slowly,
Soft and unforced,
Followed by an exhale that lets your body sink just a little deeper into the support beneath you.
Silently remind yourself,
I am allowed to rest.
I do not need to stay alert.
If thoughts arise,
Notice them without judgment.
You don't need to solve them now.
You don't need to follow them now.
Repeat silently to yourself,
My thoughts can wait until tomorrow.
Tonight,
I receive rest,
And that is enough.
Now bring your awareness gently to your face.
Let the muscles around your eyes soften.
Your eyelids are resting heavy and relaxed.
Allow your jaw to unclench,
Your teeth slightly parted.
Your tongue rests comfortably in your mouth.
There is no expression your face needs to hold right now.
Silently repeat,
I am receptive to releasing effort from my body.
I am receptive to softening without fear.
Now bring attention to your neck and shoulders.
Notice how much that they've been carrying.
With your next exhale,
Imagine that weight,
The weight you've been carrying,
Slowly melting downward.
Your shoulders drop away from your ears.
Your neck feels supported.
Repeat to yourself,
I do not need to hold everything together.
I am supported.
Now let relaxation move down into your arms.
Your upper arms grow heavy.
Your forearms soften.
Your hands relax completely.
There is nothing you need to grip,
Nothing you need to control.
Notice your chest rising and falling with each breath.
Your heart is beating steadily.
It carries on faithfully without needing your attention.
Silently remind yourself,
My body knows how to take care of me.
I can trust this rhythm.
Moving your attention,
Allow your belly to soften.
No tension.
No pulling in.
Repeat,
I am safe to relax here.
Now let your hips grow heavy.
Your thighs are warm and loose.
Your calves soften.
Your feet relax completely.
Your entire body is resting,
Fully supported.
Repeat,
I am safe.
I am held.
I am allowed to rest.
As your breath settles into a natural,
Easy rhythm,
Imagine that with each exhale,
You are drawing in a gentle,
Supportive energy.
You don't need to visualize this energy clearly.
You may sense it as warmth or softness,
Or simply a feeling of ease spreading through your body.
This energy represents the natural healing intelligence already within you.
With each gentle inhale,
Quietly affirm,
I am receptive to welcoming healing.
I am receptive to welcoming ease.
With each exhale,
Allow anything unnecessary to release.
I am receptive to releasing tension.
I am receptive to releasing fatigue.
I am receptive to releasing old worries.
There is no rush tonight.
Healing unfolds in its own time.
Silently remind yourself,
I do not need to hurry my healing.
My body knows the way.
Repeat silently the following affirmations.
I am relaxed.
I am safe to rest deeply.
My mind is allowed to slow down.
My mind does not need to stay alert tonight.
My body is ready to heal.
My mind is ready to heal.
My spirit is ready to heal.
I trust the wisdom within me.
I trust the timing of my healing.
Each breath I take supports my well-being.
Each moment of rest restores me.
I release thoughts that do not support my peace.
I give myself permission to heal gently.
I give myself permission to heal without pressure.
I give myself permission to heal without expectation.
My body knows how to repair and renew itself.
I allow my body to repair and renew itself without my forcing it.
With every inhale,
Healing flows more freely within me.
With every exhale,
I release and let go.
I am moving towards better health.
I honor my needs.
I honor my limits.
I honor my capacity to heal.
I am not broken.
There is nothing about me that needs fixing.
I am becoming whole.
I allow myself to be supported by rest,
By breath,
By this moment.
As I sleep,
My body restores itself.
As I sleep,
My mind settles and integrates.
As I sleep,
My spirit feels held gently.
I trust myself.
I value myself.
I love myself.
I am safe.
I am comfortable.
I am at ease.
There is nothing more you need to focus on.
You may stay with the rhythm of your breath or allow your awareness to drift softly in and out.
If thoughts appear,
Let them pass like clouds in the sky.
If sleep arrives,
Welcome it.
Your body will continue its healing work throughout the night without effort on your part and without direction.
Let the sound of my voice fade gently into the background as your rest deepens.
You are held.
You are supported.
You are healing.
