Transcript

Begin by finding a comfortable place outside where you will feel relaxed,

Safe and undisturbed.

Settle into a sitting position and make yourself comfortable.

Now feel into the surface you're sitting on and how it is supporting you,

Your weight.

Sense how the space around you seems to be hugging to your shape.

Now bring your attention to how you are breathing.

Now take one deep full breath,

Breathing in fully and exhale letting go of tensions you feel in your body or in your heart.

One more deep breath and exhale.

Now moving your attention to the natural space around you.

What are you noticing around you?

It is springtime,

It is the spring equinox.

Using your senses,

What do you hear?

What are you feeling on your skin?

What is your body sensing as it is in contact with the natural world?

Are there scents that you notice?

Whether or not you recognize where they're from?

If your eyes are closed,

Open them now and what are you taking in visually?

What colors are there?

What movements,

What type of movements?

Are there changes?

Are there changes happening real time?

Springtime takes time to unfold.

It is finally spring equinox but the world has been stirring for some time now.

Not quite leaving winter but planting seeds,

Getting ready,

Feeling movement and warmth again until finally we reach this point of the equinox of longer days balancing the night time.

Are there energies of spring that you already are aware of?

What are you leaving behind as part of winter and that early spring period?

What kind of balance could you be reaching starting from now?

Notice what feelings or ideas come up,

You're not forcing them but ready to hear what's ready to surface and be heard.

Now whatever it is that you have noticed,

You bring your attention once again to how you're breathing,

Through your nose,

Maybe through your throat,

Your chest expanding and contracting,

Your stomach expanding and contracting.

You are part of this natural world,

You're breathing in the spring air as one of the many living beings taking part in this natural rhythm of the earth.

Your life and all life is being celebrated when we return our gratitude to the earth,

To the earth that is holding us.

The firm ground supporting us with love and gratitude for the life around us and within us.

We end this practice for welcoming spring.
