Ending Procrastination.
Welcome.
This guided imagery meditation is designed to help you in releasing the struggle around following through with your activities,
Your plans,
And your goals.
This meditation is designed two ways to help assist you in ending procrastination.
The first way is that it's there to help you focus your attention by releasing scatteredness and confusion.
And secondly,
It works with your subconscious mind to help a reprogram the old beliefs into new beliefs that will assist you not only with following through but achieving success in all that you do.
So as we're about ready to begin,
Gently close your eyes.
And as your eyes are closed quietly and you have found a comfortable position,
Begin to focus on your breathing.
Begin focusing on the rhythm of your breath.
Breathing deeply,
Breathing gently.
With each and every inhale and exhale,
You will find that you begin to relax and slow down.
Your brain and your mind begin to slow down.
Slow down.
For this is your time.
A sacred time to become centered,
Focused,
And clear.
So as you draw your attention from your breathing to your body,
Let us focus together on relaxing your body.
For it is within the relaxation process that the creative mind,
The intuitive mind,
Can expand.
And within its expansion offer you the insights,
The problem-solving resolutions that you often seek throughout your day.
So as we take this time to pause,
To reflect,
To relax,
Begin by relaxing and sending a warm,
Quiet thought to your scalp.
Just imagine the tension,
The tiredness across your scalp evaporate and disappear.
And feel the relaxation in your scalp expanding.
You might be amazed at how much tension you hold within your scalp and forehead and around your eyes.
And as you focus your attention,
Simply give the mental thought for those muscles to relax and they will listen and follow through.
The tiny muscles around your eyes will become loose and limp.
You can begin to draw back the energy that you project through your eyes.
For throughout the day and throughout the stressful lives that we often live,
We project enormous amounts of energy through our eyes.
And at will,
By choice,
You can simply draw that energy back in,
Imagining you are drawing energy from your eyes,
Even though they're closed,
Drawing the energy you've projected through those eyes back into the center of your head,
Behind your eyes,
Pulling the energy back into the center,
Into your center.
And as you feel the energy shifting in your eyes relaxing,
Take in another long,
Slow,
Deep breath.
And as you exhale,
Sense the relaxation expanding through all the muscles within your face.
As you exhale,
Feel the relaxation moving down into your jaw.
And as your jaw relaxes,
Your teeth will separate slightly.
And allow your tongue to go back into the center of your mouth,
Where it belongs,
Relaxing your tongue,
Your jaw,
And the tiny muscles throughout your face.
Feel the relaxation as it gently expands down into the muscles of your neck.
Very silently,
Very gently,
The relaxation expands into the nape of your neck,
And expanding down into your shoulders.
Just let your shoulders relax,
Letting go,
Letting go.
Loosen the tightness and the tension within the shoulders,
And just feel them dropping and relaxing a little deeper.
And as your shoulders relax,
The muscles down both arms will begin to receive hints and clues of their destination,
The hints and clues of total relaxation.
And the biceps,
Triceps,
Forearms,
Wrists,
And hands will respond,
Returning to their natural state,
A state of relaxation.
Sense those arms and hands from your shoulders to your fingertips,
Becoming very relaxed,
Heavy,
And at ease.
Your heart beats rhythmically and without effort,
Pumping life-giving energy to all parts of your body,
Feeding,
Healing,
Nourishing,
Restoring your body.
Sense that relaxation moving into your chest,
Through each and every beat of your heart.
Your breathing is rhythmic and relaxed.
And all the many organs and glands are becoming the beneficiary of this relaxed state.
For all the organs and glands throughout the digestive system,
The reproductive systems,
The nervous system,
The respiratory system,
Are relaxing,
Returning to a state of equilibrium,
Returning to a state of balance.
And your torso is growing heavier,
More relaxed.
The blood and nerve fluids are flowing freely throughout the spinal column and the spinal cord.
And you feel the blood flow,
And it offers you a warm,
Soothing feeling of comfort as it continues to travel throughout your body.
As the relaxation,
Like a gentle wave,
Slowly moves down to the base of your spine.
And from the base of your spine to the top of your head,
From your shoulders to your fingertips,
Your body,
The upper body,
Is completely and totally relaxed.
And now let the relaxation expand at the base of your spine,
Dividing and moving into your thighs,
Your knees,
Calves,
Ankles,
And feet.
Feel like a gentle wave of warm,
Relaxing energy flowing down into your legs.
Your legs grow heavy and relaxed.
The tiny muscles in your feet are softening,
Becoming supple and peaceful.
And you appreciate your body.
You appreciate all the many muscles and organs and glands that all work for your benefit.
The feet and the legs that carry you into the future at will.
And all the many organs and glands throughout your digestive system that are there to nourish and feed you,
To honor you in your every choice.
You allow yourself to appreciate your body,
To value your body and its miraculous ability to do anything at your beckon command.
As you value and love and support your body,
Regardless of whether it is in perfect health or not,
Love your body and value it now.
For it is a vehicle.
And it is a sacred,
Beautiful part of your expression physically.
And in a moment,
I'm going to have you imagine,
To imagine that there is a mist gathering around you,
A beautiful colored mist of whatever is your favorite color.
Just to sense a mist of colored light beginning to rise,
To rise from your feet and lifting and billowing in a cloud of colored light all around you until you're inside of this cocoon of colored light.
It is beautiful.
It is your favorite color.
And as you begin to sense the mist lifting through the torso and around your body,
It blocks your view for all you can now see in front of you and to your sides.
And even behind you is this colored energy,
This colored mist of colored light.
And you begin to draw it in through your breath.
You begin to breathe the colored energy in.
You almost taste the color itself.
You allow this color inside with each and every breath.
You feel it tickle,
Gently tickle the surface of your skin with the delicate mist.
And you are enveloped in this beautiful mist that will lift you,
That will lift you out of any states of worry,
Depression,
Or fear.
It will continue to lift you higher and higher,
Your body very heavy,
But your mind becoming very light,
Floating through the cloud of beautiful color.
And as it floats,
You feel safe.
And within this safety,
Imagine that you are landing upon solid ground.
In the mist,
The favorite colored mist begins to clear.
And as the cleared mist parts in front of you,
You will notice a doorway,
An ordinary plain door that is there before you.
You sense that it might be a familiar door,
But it is a plain door.
Behind that door is a room,
A room you are going to enter into.
And before you enter this room,
I want you to make the choice to make a decision that you are going to heal the procrastination,
That you are going to let loose of the old patterns,
Habits,
And behavior of scatteredness,
Of unorganization,
That you are going to release the self-punishing,
Self-sabotaging energy that is at the basis of all procrastination.
You do not need to know how you're going to do it.
You just simply now need to decide,
Yes,
I am going to end my pattern of procrastination.
And as you think those thoughts,
Simply now take hold of the door handle and opening the door that stands before you and stepping into a small room,
A quiet room that is tiny but comfortable.
Turning the doorknob and stepping through the threshold into a new space,
Into another place.
And within this room,
It is quiet.
You are comfortable and relaxed.
It is within this room that you are going to meet the procrastinator.
The you that procrastinates is going to meet you here in this space.
The you that procrastinates is hiding in the corners of this room.
Perhaps you will sense it as a younger version of you,
A you that is a child or adolescent,
A you that is a teenager or young adult.
But there is a part of you that procrastinates for some reason.
And I want you to imagine within the dark corners of this room,
Stepping out close to you is the procrastinator.
Find that part of you and let them come forward.
Standing before you,
You might sense it personified like I mentioned as a child or adolescent,
A younger version of you.
You might sense it as just an energy or it might even look like some kind of scary monster or some kind of other person,
Even someone of the opposite sex.
Do not judge how this part of you that procrastinates appears.
For oftentimes,
If you are female and the procrastinator in you is male,
It is because perhaps the female in you has decided that you do not want to do it yourself.
You want some man,
Some male to come along and do it for you.
And thus you have a pattern of procrastination that is based upon the fact that you refuse to do it yourself.
That is just an example.
It doesn't mean that that happens for all females.
But just notice how your procrastinator appears.
There are many clues about where the origin of your procrastination emerges from.
And as you sense it standing before you,
Look into the eyes of the procrastinator and start feeling compassion.
Do not judge or berate or punish that part of you.
For it believes on some level that it is doing something for your good by procrastinating.
Perhaps it's afraid and fearful and trying to protect you.
Whatever its hesitation,
Rather than judging it,
Focus on understanding it.
And as you look into the eyes of the procrastinator,
Take your power back by simply mentally saying to yourself,
I am taking my power back from the procrastinator in me.
I am taking my power back.
And then take in a deep breath.
And as you exhale,
You are releasing the need and the control of this part of your consciousness.
As you exhale,
You release the need and the control of the procrastinator.
And as you sense that part of you standing before you,
I want you to look behind the procrastinator.
For behind the procrastinator is the achiever,
The you that is efficient and organized,
Focused and clear.
I want you to look beyond the procrastinator to the you that is successful,
Focused and goal oriented.
Define that part of you.
And as that you bring that part of you forward to stand side by side next to the procrastinator,
Realize that every human being,
Every person has the potential for both to procrastinate or to achieve.
And in this altered state,
Having taking your power back from the procrastinator,
You now make a choice as to the flow of energy your future is going to hold.
Perhaps it's a specific project that you are thinking about that you've been procrastinating,
Or perhaps it's just procrastination in general.
But think of a project or the feeling that procrastination produces within you.
Perhaps the self-punishment,
The self-judgment or criticism that emerges from that part of your consciousness.
And as you face the two,
The achiever and the procrastinator,
Make a conscious choice to choose to achieve,
To become focused,
To call upon this part of your consciousness to bring it forward to assist you.
And as you sense the achiever in you,
Ask that part of you for help.
Ask that part of you to help you in ending procrastination around a specific issue or in general.
As you connect with the achiever in you,
You mentally open your arms and embrace this part of your consciousness.
You feel the strength,
The focus and the clarity.
As you are embraced by and you embrace the achiever,
The part of you that sets goals is organized,
Focused and clear.
The part of you that knows how to love and support itself and others.
And as the achiever embraces you and you embrace that part of your consciousness,
Let them become absorbed inside of you.
Feel as if the two are becoming one as you blend together,
Melting,
Merging,
Blending with the achiever within you.
The achiever who knows the balance of living life,
An enriched life,
Physically,
Emotionally,
Mentally and spiritually.
You blend and become one.
And as you blend with the achiever,
You stand facing.
You face the procrastinator and you stand facing that part of you that is part of your past with compassion.
As you sense the procrastinator there,
You let that part of you vent any emotions that it feels.
If it's angry,
Give permission for the procrastinator in you to vent its anger of all the years,
All the successes that slipped through the fingers,
Of all the time spent unproductively.
Let that part of you vent its feelings.
Perhaps it's a sense of failure or frustration or confusion.
Whatever the emotions of this part of you,
Give them the space to vent,
To express,
To release the pent-up feelings of a life of procrastination.
And as you give them the space,
Create a little time for them to release the emotions around this pattern of procrastination.
And you will discover that as the emotions are expressed,
The mist of favorite colored light begins to envelop the procrastinator.
The mist begins to grow around their feet,
Rising up,
Enveloping them in a beautiful cocoon of colored light,
A healing vibration.
And as this cocoon of colored light surrounds the procrastinator,
Know that that part of you is now a part of your past,
That you can draw a line and step beyond the past into the future of achievement,
That you can be done with this pattern,
That you can vent the feelings and the frustration,
And you can be done.
As you now take a moment to forgive yourself for the time wasted,
For the self-punishment which is at the basis of all procrastination,
To forgive yourself for the failures,
For the lost success,
For the frustration and pain you have caused yourself and others through procrastinating.
Take a moment now to forgive,
And you will be free from the pattern of procrastination.
Now gently repeat these messages quietly and gently to yourself.
As you hear me speak these messages,
They are going to enter into your subconscious mind,
Becoming a new foundation of successful achievement.
As you hear the words,
Mentally repeat them in your mind,
In your imagination,
And your subconscious mind will listen.
Your subconscious mind will respond,
And it will do all that it can do to make these statements true for you.
Your subconscious mind will do everything in its power to make the following statements true.
I take action on my goals and my dreams.
I follow through,
And I support what I say I'm going to do.
I follow through with action on my ideas.
It is easy for me to take action on my dreams and goals.
I easily succeed at all of my goals.
I easily succeed at whatever I choose and decide I'm going to do.
I easily follow through and feel a sense of accomplishment as I achieve my goals.
I easily follow through and feel a sense of accomplishment as I achieve my goals.
It is easy for me to focus my attention and to finish what I start.
It is easy for me to focus my attention and to finish what I start.
I may have many projects going on at one time,
But I always complete and finish each one.
I may have many projects going on at one time,
But I always finish and complete each one that I start.
My mind is focused and clear,
And my actions are decisive and follow through.
I am confident in my choices and decisions.
I am confident in my actions.
I am confident in all of my choices and decisions.
I am confident in the actions that bring me closer to my goals.
I am confident and true to myself.
I am confident and true to myself.
Each and every day,
My memory and my intention increases.
Each and every day,
My memory and my attention increases.
I live in the moment,
And I focus at what's at hand.
I let the future be in the future.
I allow the past to be in the past,
And I am in the present moment,
Focused and centered.
I trust myself to follow through with all of my activities.
I trust myself to follow through with all of my activities.
I allow myself to receive help when necessary.
I allow myself to receive help from others when necessary.
I am loved and supported by life itself.
I am loved and supported by life itself,
And I trust myself to follow through.
I have the ability and I am willing to be efficient,
Organized,
And centered.

Every day and in every way,
I'm becoming more productive and creative.
Every day and in every way,

My creative problem-solving abilities are increasing,
And I find resolution to all of my problems.

And I easily find resolution to all of my problems.
I can live a life free from problems,
From struggle,
From negativity.

And I trust myself to accomplish what I decide to do.

And I prioritize my activities throughout the day.

And I prioritize the activities that lead me to my goals every day.
It is fun to be focused and organized.

And as you continue to allow these statements like seeds planted deep within your consciousness,
Each of those statements will take root and begin to sprout and grow.
And you will find as each passing day,
Your mind becomes more clear.
Your mind becomes more centered and focused.
You will find that as you listen to this recording,
That within seven days of listening once a day,
You will become more and more organized and successful at all that you do.
And within 14 days,
The procrastination will begin to cease and relinquish its control over your life.
Within two weeks of listening to this recording,
You will discover that you have harnessed the power of your subconscious mind,
And that you are creating a new future.
For every act of will,
Every act of choice alters the future.
That is the nature of will.
And you have chosen and decided at this point forward to end the frustration and the destructive patterns of procrastination.
Feel good about that choice,
And know that you are capable of following through.
And you will reap the benefit of successful achievement.
If you are listening to this recording,
And it is your regular bedtime hour,
No doubt you will have slipped gently and easily into a deep,
Relaxed sleep.
And the statements made to your subconscious mind will continue to absorb,
Even as you sleep at night.
And if this is your regular bedtime hour,
Continue to sleep into the night,
And to awaken at the normal time that is your time to get going in the morning.
But if you would like to come back to full awakening consciousness at a time other than your regular bedtime,
Then simply take in a long,
Slow,
Deep breath,
And I'm going to count from one to five.
And at the count of five,
You will return back into your body,
Back into the room,
Fully awake,
Fully conscious,
And ready to step forward into a new future of successful achievement.

Drawing your attention to your body,

Depending on the choice you now make.
