This is Colette.
This is a grounding meditation.
Just allowing your body to begin to sit comfortably.
You can either be seated or you can lie down.
Wherever you are,
Just allowing the eyes to close softly.
Allowing the jaw to soften.
Starting to feel your whole body arrive here.
And as the body just settles in,
Just reminding yourself that you're safe here.
Safe to be,
Safe to feel,
And safe to go inward.
Starting to just allow your shoulders to fall.
Allow your body to get really heavy.
Maybe for the first time today,
Allowing your body to be still.
Beginning to sense the air on your skin,
Allowing any sounds to soften around you.
Beginning to arrive here.
Starting right away to connect with the tailbone.
Sensing all those points of contact with your body being held.
Now the tailbone will get really heavy.
Beginning to notice all the space beneath your body.
And how the ground is here to support you in your practice.
Now beginning to just shift your awareness to the top of your head.
Just starting to sense and notice all the space above your body.
Sensing the eyes,
Cheekbones,
Jaw.
And just shifting your awareness to the right side of your body.
Beginning to just sense all the length from your right shoulder all the way down to your right fingertips.
Sensing all that space to the right side of your body.
Now allowing your attention to come to the left side of your body.
Feeling all the space around the left shoulder.
On the left arm,
Left hand.
Just beginning to notice your entire body.
Taking time and space to just hold you here.
Allow your body to get very heavy.
Starting to feel and sense that pull of gravity.
Pulling you closer and closer to the earth.
From the tailbone,
Lying roots to grow.
Imagining roots growing from your body,
Moving its way into the ground.
Growing through any soil,
Through any rock,
Sand.
Gravel moving,
Intertwining,
Making its way all the way down to the center of the earth.
As these roots grow,
Absorbing any nutrients,
Oxygen.
Feel your entire body.
Feeling all the natural power and gifts from the earth.
In this rootedness,
Allowing the strong foundation to solidify.
Starting to connect again to the weight of the earth.
Starting to bring nature into your body.
Bringing in ease,
Clarity,
Strength,
And truth that all reside in this strong foundation in your center.
And as you breathe,
Starting to draw the breath from the base of the spine.
Moving all the way up to the crown of the head on your inhale.
On the exhale,
All the way from the crown of the head,
Making its way all the way back down to the base of your spine.
Starting to take some nice,
Deep,
Long,
And cleansing breaths.
And through each breath,
Moving oxygen,
Increasing space,
Any stagnant or blocked areas in your body.
Taking three more full,
Cleansing breaths.
Moving through full and complete breath cycles.
Beginning to visualize your roots.
Drawing back up through all the layers of the earth.
Moving through rock,
Gravel,
Soil,
Sand,
And grass.
Absorbing any nutrients along the way,
As they meet back the tailbone.
Allowing the shoulders to soften,
Not the jaw to soften.
Taking a full,
Big,
Deep breath in.
On the exhale,
Just letting something go.
Big breath in through the nose,
Filling up your entire body.
And exhale,
Softening.
The final breath here,
Inhaling deeply,
Drawing from the tailbone.
And exhale through your mouth.
Slowly when you're ready,
Sensing the air on your skin,
Different sounds around you.
Really inviting movement back into your body and taking your time.
