Take a moment to settle.
Let your body find stillness.
And let your breath flow naturally.
Feel the breath,
In the body,
Wherever it shows up.
And know that the breath is a sure sign that you are now alive.
As you rest here,
I invite you to sense the sheer gift of being alive,
Of being alive,
Of having this breath,
This one breath,
Moving through you now.
Can you feel its fragility,
The sheer miracle of its existence?
There are countless beings who will never see this day,
Who longed for another sunrise,
Another chance to hold a hand,
To speak a kind word,
To taste the sweetness of life.
Yet you are here,
Alive,
Awake,
Breathing.
Notice your heart beating fast,
Still beating faithfully,
Carrying you through.
Think of all you have survived,
The storms,
The doubts,
The pain.
And still you are here.
Let yourself feel the weight of this truth.
This life is precious.
It will not last forever.
But for now,
It is yours to live,
To love,
To cherish.
If tears arise,
Let them.
Let gratitude break you open.
Whisper to yourself,
This life is precious and I am here.
Stay with that.
Breathing,
Feeling,
Remembering.
And as we bring this short meditation to a close,
Give yourself the gift of thanks for all that is and all that you are.
