Allow yourself to sit or lay exactly as you are.
For a moment,
Let the world outside this room go quiet.
Start by taking three gentle breaths.
As you inhale,
Feel the air filling your chest.
As you exhale,
Imagine you are dropping the weight of all the heavy bags you are carrying.
Fear lives in the what if.
And to counter it,
We start with what is.
I am here.
I am breathing.
I am safe in this moment.
Visualise the fear not as a monster but as a thick grey fog standing between you and your future.
It makes everything look distorted and scary.
Acknowledge the fear loop outcome,
The one that your brain keeps showing you.
Look at it,
Give it a nod and then intentionally turn your head away from it.
That is only one version of a story that hasn't been written yet.
And as you turn your head away from the fog,
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a vast forest.
A place where the ground is firm and the way forward is real.
This forest represents the situation or the fear that you are facing.
It is okay if the trees look thick or the path seems unclear right now.
Take a slow deep breath,
Feeling the air expand your chest like a breeze through the leaves.
Begin to walk forward.
As you move through the thick of your fear,
Notice that you do not have to fight the trees or move the mountains.
You are simply moving through them.
If your mind tries to pull you into the worst case scenarios,
Acknowledge them just as the shadows on the forest floor.
They have no substance.
Keep your feet moving forward.
One steady step at a time.
Now look toward the horizon.
Don't aim for a perfect destination.
Instead,
Look for the moment the light changes.
Visualize the trees beginning to space out.
The canopy is opening up and the heavy shadows are retreating.
You can see the golden glow of an open meadow just ahead.
This is the moment where the weight lifts and the situation is behind you.
Now see yourself taking those final steps out of the dense woods.
Realizing you don't need to see the whole path.
You only need to see the next few steps ahead.
And as you do,
You step into a wide sun-drenched meadow.
Feel the space.
Notice how much room there is to breathe here.
Observe the future you,
Standing in this clearing.
Observe the ease in your posture.
The tension has drained out of your body.
You have walked your way through to the open space.
Stay here in the sun for a moment.
Let the warm of this navigated outcome soak into every part of your being.
You are safe.
You are capable.
Take one last deep grounding breath in this meadow.
And when you are ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room.
You aren't leaving that clearing behind.
You are simply bringing that sense of open space back into this moment.
You know the way through.
You can do hard things.
Gently invite some movement back into your fingers,
Your toes.
Carrying this sense of space back into your day.
