You're lying in the dark.
Thinking about money.
Room is quiet.
But the numbers are loud.
Rent.
Groceries.
Gas.
Credit cards.
Maybe medical bills.
If you're here,
This is a money fear night.
Not just,
I can't sleep.
It's how are we going to make it.
You're not weak for feeling this.
In a country like this,
Money fear is survival fear.
It's about home.
Food.
Kids.
The people you love.
The Buddha started with this truth.
Life comes with suffering.
Fear.
Uncertainty.
Tight nights like this.
He never said you had to pretend you were okay.
He said you don't have to suffer on top of the suffering.
For these minutes,
You don't have to fix your whole life.
You don't have to be positive.
You just have to be here.
Breathing.
Alive.
If it feels okay,
Let your eyes soften.
They can close.
Or just rest heavy.
Let your shoulders drop a little.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your tongue fall from the roof of your mouth.
Feel the weight of your body on the bed.
Blanket on your skin.
The way the mattress holds your back.
Right now,
In this breath,
Notice one fact.
You are here.
You are breathing.
You are breathing.
You made it to this night.
If it feels okay,
Bring one hand to your chest.
One hand to your belly.
Feel the warmth under your palms.
Feel your body working for you.
We'll use a simple rhythm.
And do the nose for four.
Out through the mouth for six.
Like a soft,
Tired sigh.
Breathing in.
Two,
Three,
Four.
Out.
Breathing out.
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
In.
Feeling your chest rise into your hand.
Out.
Let your shoulders drop a little more.
One more time.
In.
And slowly out.
Let your breath find its own pace now.
Let the exhale be a little longer than the inhale.
Money Fear says,
You're not safe until every number is perfect.
Life has never been perfect.
And somehow you're still here.
We're going to do two things tonight.
One,
For your future.
First,
Your future.
Picture tomorrow's you.
More awake.
Morning light at the window.
Maybe a cup of coffee in your hand.
Let one small next move rise up.
Just one.
Maybe call and ask about a payment plan.
Maybe write down the real numbers so they live on paper,
Not in my chest.
Maybe send one message asking for help or advice.
Whatever step appears,
Let it be simple.
Honest.
Doable in the next few days.
When it shows up,
Nod to it inside.
Silently say,
That's my move.
You don't have to carry the whole staircase.
Just the next step.
Now we take care of your heart.
The Buddha also taught joy.
Presence.
Gratitude in small,
Real things.
Still lying here.
Let three things come to mind that you're grateful for.
Not big,
Fake,
I love everything,
Gratitude.
Tiny,
Stubborn,
Real gratitude.
Maybe it's a kid's laugh.
A friend who texted back.
A meal you had this week.
The way the sky looked today.
Name the first one silently.
Let it sit in your chest for a breath.
Name the second one.
Let it sit in your chest for a breath.
Name the third one.
Let it sit in your chest for a breath.
You still have bills.
You still have these three small lights.
I'll be quiet for a while now.
Stay with your breath.
Stay with that one small step for tomorrow.
And those three pieces of gratitude.
Let everything else drift to the edges.
If you're still here with this recording,
That's okay.
Doesn't mean you did it wrong.
It means your fear is loud.
And you're still here,
Breathing with it.
Instead of drowning in it.
Feel your hand on your chest again.
Your hand on your belly.
The weight of your body on the bed.
The slow rhythm of your breath.
You do not have to fix your entire money life from this pillow.
You do not have to think through every disaster to prove you care.
Right now,
It is enough to be human.
Worried.
Still here.
Still worthy of rest and small joy.
If sleep comes,
Let it come.
If it doesn't,
You're still giving your nervous system a night where it doesn't have to run numbers in the dark.
Whatever's left can meet you in the daylight.
With that one honest step.
With those three small lights.
For now,
Let the numbers fade to the edges.
Let the breath stay close.
Let the bed hold you.
Stillness is rebellion.
Compassion is a weapon.
Peace is within.
Carry all.
Good night.
Good night.
