Welcome,
Friends.
In this meditation,
We're going to take a relaxing trip to a peaceful orchard.
A place where you can connect with your true desires and plant that seed out into the universe.
So,
Let's begin by taking a comfortable seat.
One that supports you and allows your spine to be straight but not rigid.
Let your hands rest softly in your lap or on your legs.
And if it feels safe for you,
Gently close your eyes or lower your gaze.
And begin to notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
There's no need to change anything.
Your body knows what to do.
Maybe little by little,
The breath begins to lengthen.
And maybe you feel your body begin to soften,
The mind to quiet.
Now,
In your mind's eye,
Imagine a crisp fall day.
The sky is a deep,
Endless blue.
Around you,
The trees are bursting with color.
Brilliant reds,
Bright yellows,
Warm oranges and soft browns.
The air is cool,
But not too cold.
It's just perfect.
You're wearing your favorite sweater.
Maybe it's light and soft and cozy.
Or maybe it's thick and heavy and warm.
You also have on your favorite pair of jeans.
The ones you've had forever but just can't seem to get rid of.
Feel the texture of them against your skin.
Notice the cool air brushing your face and hands.
And also the warmth that's tucked under your sweater and jeans.
Feel that contrast,
The gentle balance of coolness and comfort.
Ahead of you lies an orchard.
It stretches across the hillside,
Filled with your favorite fruit.
Maybe apples or pears or peaches.
It's harvest time and the trees are heavy with ripe fruit.
As you walk slowly among them,
You can smell the sweetness of the fruit that's fallen to the ground.
The fragrance is rich and inviting.
And that scent brings to mind a sense of peace,
A simple joy.
Walk gently between the trees.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.
Notice the way the sunlight filters through the branches,
Casting warm golden light all around.
You find a tree that seems to call to you.
Strong,
Generous,
Abundant.
Reach up and pick the biggest,
Juiciest piece of fruit you can find.
Feel its weight in your hand.
Notice the texture of the skin,
The different colors on each side of the fruit.
Nearby,
You notice a wooden picnic table beneath a tree.
Go ahead and walk over,
Take a seat.
When you're ready,
Bring the fruit to your lips and take a bite.
Notice the sound,
That first crisp bite,
That burst of flavor.
Is it tart and sharp or soft and sweet?
Let each bite bring you deeper into stillness,
Into gratitude.
Each taste fills you with calm and joy.
For the next few moments,
Allow yourself to savor this simple pleasure.
When you finish,
All that remains is the core,
The center,
Where the seeds live.
You take one small seed into your hand.
Feel its surface,
Its tiny weight,
And notice its quiet potential.
Now gently ask yourself,
What does my heart truly desire today?
What does my heart truly desire today?
Don't force an answer,
Simply listen.
See what thoughts or feelings arise as you hold the seed in your hand.
When one desire feels right,
Bring it to your heart.
Imagine that thought resting gently at your heart's center,
Glowing softly with light.
See it begin to blossom there,
Nourished by your breath,
By your love.
Now imagine kneeling down to plant that seed into the earth before you.
Press it gently into the soil and cover it with care.
The ground is cool and rich and alive.
Know that the earth and the universe have received your desire,
That they will tend to it and nurture it.
It may take time,
But trust that it will grow in its own perfect way,
In its own perfect time.
Friends,
It's time to leave the orchard.
Begin to bring your awareness back to the space around you.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in,
And a long,
Gentle exhale out.
Start to feel the surface beneath you.
Maybe notice the air on your skin.
And again,
Begin to notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes or lift your gaze,
Carrying with you the calm and the quiet,
Knowing that what you've planted today is already beginning to bloom.
Thank you for taking this journey.
May your heart's desire grow strong and beautiful in the days to come.
Namaste.
