Quick,

Somatic meditation,

18 breaths to awaken and balance your chakras.

This seated practice can be done anywhere as a quick way to rest,

Focus inside,

And awaken and balance your chakras.

I'll describe what we'll be doing first and then guide you through it.

We'll be using the chakras,

A traditional Hindu map of your energy centers,

To pay attention to the midline of your body.

We'll take two complete breaths to visualize and enliven each of the seven chakras,

Root,

Pelvis,

Solar plexus,

Heart,

Throat,

Third eye,

And your crown.

With each inhale,

Bring your breath into that area,

And with each exhale,

Bring more activity and energy into that area.

It might be through sensation or through visualizing light or movement.

Once we've gone through each of the seven,

We'll take two more breaths to feel and imagine all of the chakra's energy energized and in alignment,

And two more breaths to allow the body to dissolve into space.

Naturally,

When you do this on your own,

Follow your own unique tempo.

So,

Sit comfortably with your pelvis well supported and your spine free,

And allow your whole body to rest.

Use your breath to draw your attention inward,

Inhaling red light through the root area of your coccyx,

Perineum,

And anus.

Exhale and inject energy into the movement,

Radiance,

Or aliveness in this area.

Inhale and feel the whole area.

Exhale and direct loving energy there to charge the chakra up.

And inhale orange light through your whole pelvic area,

Including your sexual organs.

Then exhale and inject energy into the movement,

Radiance,

Or vitality in this area.

Inhale and feel the whole area.

Exhale and direct loving energy there to enliven the chakra.

Inhale yellow light through your waist,

Belly,

And solar plexus.

Exhale and send appreciative energy into the movement,

Radiance,

Or aliveness in this area.

Inhale and feel this whole area of your body.

Exhale and direct loving energy there to charge the chakra.

Then inhale green light through your heart and chest.

Exhale and send appreciative energy there to charge the chakra.

Inhale and feel the area.

Exhale and direct loving energy into the movement,

Radiance,

Or aliveness in this area.

Inhaling blue light through your neck and throat.

Then exhale and send appreciative energy into the movement,

Radiance,

Or aliveness in this area.

Inhale and feel and open your neck.

Exhale and direct loving energy there to charge the chakra.

Inhaling indigo light through your brow and your brain.

Exhale and sending appreciative energy to charge this whole area.

Inhale and feel the area of your brain and brow.

Exhale and direct loving energy into the movement,

Radiance,

Or aliveness in this area.

Inhale violet light through your crown.

Exhale feeling and imagining energy in the movement and the radiance and aliveness of this area.

Inhale and feel your crown.

Exhale and direct loving energy there to charge the chakra.

Now inhale from your root all the way up to your crown.

Exhale feeling and imagining all seven chakras,

Radiant and aligned.

Inhale and feel your whole midline.

Exhale feeling and imagining your radiance.

Inhaling deeply,

Feeling your whole experience.

Exhale and release your whole body and mind into radiant space.

Inhale deeply,

Feeling and experiencing whatever is there for you.

Exhaling and allowing your whole body and mind to dissolve into radiant space.

And coming gently back to your day now,

Enjoying how you're feeling.

Use this breathing pattern anytime you want to feel more energized and centered.

I enjoyed the two steps for each chakra-feeling the whole area on the in-breath and sending energy, love, and appreciation on the out-breath. I had to rush a little bit and needed a little more space for each one and especially at the end, doing the whole body. That was my first time and maybe with practice I’ll get there more efficiently. Overall, I loved this! I felt centered and energized afterward. It’s a great practice for my vagus nerve! Thank you, Nando! 🙏❤️
