Today's meditation is going to help you with a restful night's sleep.

It's going to allow you to shut down your mind and drift off into a peaceful calming state.

Find a place where you can be quiet and free from distraction for the duration of your meditation.

Make sure that you're comfortable.

You might be sitting up or lying down drifting away into sleep.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose.

Bringing the breath all the way down to the very bottom of your belly.

Feeling as it expands and then gently releasing the breath through your mouth.

Allowing each breath to wash through your mind and soothe your body.

Taking you deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation.

Breathing at your own natural rhythm.

Breathing in,

Becoming aware of each sensation within your breath.

Feeling each shift within your body,

Allowing it to calm and relax you even further.

If your mind begins to wander at any point,

Without any judgment,

Just redirect your focus back to the anchor that is in your breath.

As you continue to inhale and exhale,

Notice the heaviness that comes in with each breath.

Bringing in a heaviness to your body,

A heaviness to your mind.

Crowding out any other sensations.

As you feel this calming heaviness set in,

Give it permission to displace any stress,

Any tension,

Any areas of discomfort,

Any thoughts lingering upon your mind.

Releasing them into the universe with each exhale.

Becoming heavier and heavier,

Drifting downward into relaxation.

Noticing the comfort in this heaviness.

The sense of safety and protection.

As you experience a deeper rest in each part of your body,

Each part of your mind.

Allowing your tired mind and your tired body to surrender to this internal heaviness growing inside you.

This stillness,

Calmness enveloping your body and your mind.

Anchoring it into a state of stillness,

Into a state of safety and comfort.

Breathing in,

Allowing the soothing heaviness to continue to envelop your body and mind.

Breathing out,

Letting go of stress,

Tension,

Any thoughts.

Bring your attention to scanning through your body and your mind.

Becoming aware of any lingering thoughts upon your mind or any tension still within your body.

Acknowledging them without judgment,

But giving them permission to be released with your breath.

Embracing the internal soothing heaviness that sets in more and more with each breath you breathe in.

Breathing in the soothing,

Comforting heaviness.

And breathing out,

Surrendering any thoughts or tension still upon you.

Starting to drift deeper and deeper downward into the calming and comforting heaviness and stillness.
