For this practice on self-care,

Settle into a comfortable pose.

Take a deep breath,

Soften your shoulders,

Relax your face.

Self-care means investing in the relationship with ourselves.

It means honoring ourselves by sitting here,

By taking a time out,

By being with yourself right now,

By breathing,

Listening,

Feeling.

You practice self-care right now.

You honor what is alive in you.

May it be pleasant,

May it be unpleasant.

May it be in the body,

In the mind,

In the heart.

You stay,

You listen,

You feel.

So simple is self-care.

Staying with what is.

With openness,

Honoring what is alive in you.

Now,

Just stay for as long as you wish and continue this most simple practice of self-care as you dedicate time to being with what is.

You may sit for another minute or another 10 minutes and whenever you're ready,

Take a breath,

Bow down internally to yourself,

Honoring what is,

And then go into your day practicing self-care,

Practicing being with what is alive in you.
