Deeper Hope Deeper hope is a heart contemplation to help you encounter ultimate hope.

When hopelessness sets in,

It can be like a weather system.

A low pressure one,

Heavy,

Grey.

Too heavy at times to lift off.

Sometimes we just don't have the resources within us to kick it off.

There are hopeless thoughts and hopeless feelings.

The feelings always follow the thoughts.

And so often we'll try to alter our feelings rather than our thoughts.

Maybe with some activity like shopping or drinking or exercise.

Something that will alter our low mood.

However,

The key is in our thought life.

As we can choose what we think about.

And as an old proverb claims,

As a man thinks,

So he becomes.

So,

As we think deeply on ultimate hope,

We might see this as God or not.

But either way,

Close your eyes if you want.

And take a couple of deeper breaths.

And imagine again the storm at sea.

You're out there,

You can't see any land.

The sky is dark and you're stuck.

Out on the water in a flimsy boat,

Cold.

Heavy hearted.

Unsure if you're ever going to see daylight or land again.

Whilst you might not have ever found yourself in these literal circumstances,

You might have known them emotionally.

The heaviness of heart.

The directionlessness of your life.

The uncertainty of your future.

The fear of the future.

The fear of the future.

The uncertainty of your future.

Maybe you're even experiencing depression or hopelessness in your life right now.

But behind this image,

There is hope.

There is a sun that still shines.

And somewhere in the gloom there is land.

In the same way,

Your issues are real.

But they aren't the only reality.

There is light.

There is hope.

There is a future.

Know this.

Believe this even though you might not feel it yet.

And start to visualize the clouds thinning.

And shafts of light are now breaking through.

As you trust,

In the sunlight it becomes more of a reality.

And gives definition to your environment.

And you start to see that there is land ahead.

That these things are real.

And they start to overcome the darkness of your gloom.

The sun and the land are symbols offering you hope.

And they're a reality that God has created to remind you that difficult seasons will pass.

They're not the only reality.

That ultimate hope always exists.

And can break through your darkness.

Breathe in the sense of ultimate hope that you have.

And breathe out any hopelessness.

And you can start to see that you can't be without hope.

And you can start to see that you can't be without hope.

Breathe in hope where it's specifically needed in your life.

And breathe out the stress,

The depression,

The frustration and anger or any other dark emotions.

This flow can be seen perhaps as a form of prayer.

Where you receive hope from God and offer up to Him the darkness within.

And you can start to see that you can't be without hope.

And breathe out the stress,

The depression,

The depression,

The depression,

The depression,

The darkness within.

And whenever you're ready,

You can end the contemplation.

I choose hope. Last night I did a series of lucid dreaming meditations. I dreamt that I and my friends met a woman in the desert who had chosen the name Hope as a soul name. she was seeking her last name. I had a vision that her middle name was Grateful and that we would build a town named Inspiration. The next morning I eagerly told Hope and she agreed that I was divinely inspired. We found a river, made sacred symbols on the ground, and danced. Inspiration became a thriving town. Even though none of us had been there before, we knew in our hearts that we were Home.
