Do you have paper?

Do you have brush?

Then you,

My dear,

Can make a creative beginning.

Welcome to this creative meditation from before the brush.

I'm Patricia Baldwin-Sagerbrooke,

And in this brief yet rich two-minute exercise,

I'll take you on a journey to touch your soul of creativity and begin this one new day in inspired intuitive expression.

This is just one of three creative beginning creative meditations.

One with pen,

This one with brush,

And another with charcoal.

If you don't have any of these mediums,

Don't worry.

Use what you have and give each exercise a try with the tools of your choice and your own sensory interpretation.

It's been said that one cannot have a destination that is not the same energy as the journey.

By beginning each day with a quick shot of creative application,

You set yourself each day over and over onto a trajectory of refreshing,

Reinvigoration,

Connection to your intuition,

Whether you call yourself an artist or not.

So gather with me now,

Standing or sitting before your canvas,

Your paper,

Brush in hand,

And let's see where we can go as we begin.

Bring your consciousness to your feet,

The firm grounding you have from them to Mother Earth.

Solid,

Secure,

Start here.

Imagine the power radiating from this footing up through your legs,

It travels across your form into your organs and your limbs.

These limbs we use to express,

To create,

To share into the world.

We continue this flow of power radiance from the earth through our bodies and onto the canvas.

A melding of forces that happens uniquely here in this integration of worldly and divine power to our one unique personal power.

Take a brush today,

Hold it comfortably yet loosely,

Feather-like from your fingertips.

With something as simple as water or as rich as ink,

Dip into this fluid substance and take this brush full to your canvas.

The remains of your morning coffee pot serve beautifully as a flower,

Serve beautifully as a fluid painting substance as well.

Sweep,

Brush,

Pour,

Play.

Let this substance delight and uplift your senses as you engage as only you here now in this one moment can.

Let it flow.

Keep going.

Take up more of this fluid material and keep going.

See what comes from overplaying,

From using it all,

From pouring out and filling up.

A pot of ink,

A cup of water,

Dregs of coffee.

Cover your paper,

Canvas,

Or surface with all you have.

Step back.

Firmly plant your feet again in this back stepping and look.

What is there?

What's been created?

What has come in this one brief expression of power flow through your creative hand?

Go on from here.

Enjoy your day knowing that you chose to begin here,

Opening a doorway to a whole new way of showing up in the world,

Little by little in creativity.
