Hello Awake and Creative!
Week 5 has us tripping into the second month of this one year.
Standing in the one,
A toe in the two.
The quote comes from Tolstoy.
I look forward to sharing it with you.
Come along and see what we can evolve as we keep moving and committing to our best authentic creative self in this one year.
Awake and Creative,
Let's start.
At home,
The very walls are the support.
Leo Tolstoy Week 5 52 weeks journeying through this creative one year in numerology.
We stand firm on the beautiful base and begin to look around in the start of this two month.
What do you hold in your hand?
What is in front of your eye?
What positions encompass your world just as far as you can see?
This isn't to suggest a far horizon line.
It's to keep your sights within those four walls on all you possess already.
This is an important factor as we work in this one year authenticating our most creative selves and setting up our base camp from which we will live out this next current nine year cycle.
Much of the debris of closing out 2025,
The nine year in the previous cycle,
Has fallen away at this point.
Now there'll still be some to remove.
But for the most part,
We're beginning to feel established.
Emboldened.
As we tap our toes in this base we've built.
Just enough.
Just enough footing to realize we're solid.
As an artist,
I'm quite certain that you,
Like me,
Possess abundance.
Now it might not be a plethora of color or a mad collection of paintbrushes.
Whatever stage you're at in your creative process of discovery,
It may simply be the abundance of ideation,
Of thought,
Of beautiful,
Blessed,
Creative ingenue.
Regardless,
It is an abundance.
We all have it.
We all possess an abundance.
Whether it be energetic,
Emotional,
Spiritual,
Intellectual,
Materialistically,
Or a little of each,
It's there for us all.
To realize it,
To know this,
Is to shift perspective.
Or,
Perhaps,
Own your authentic perspective.
In 2025,
The nine year of closing things out,
I made this realization.
After decades of reaching into the world,
Traveling to teach,
Creating retreats,
Writing books,
Sharing creation,
In other words,
Getting out there,
I fully began to realize I was putting the last of that away.
Letting it go.
Because something smaller,
Quieter,
Homer,
Was calling.
Very scary place to be.
Livelihood lived in this former patterning.
The cycles offered me a life.
But that life was beginning to be the debris that needed cleaning up.
So gently,
Courageously,
And sometimes terribly,
I began to let go.
It can take years.
It did take years.
But as I said,
Finally,
In the closing cycle of last year,
I could see the truth.
It didn't always make it easier to let go and toss it out.
But it did give me something to hold,
To believe that it was the right thing to do.
An abundance of personal creative energy flooded through me and free shows,
Exhibits of my art,
Await this new one year.
Ideas to use the things I hold in my hand.
To see my vision just far enough that I can wrap my arms around it,
Perhaps,
Is where I stand.
Trust in it.
Try it.
Like the knight of pentacles,
Sitting strong,
Fortified on his steed,
You too,
I too,
Hold all the materiality I need in my hand.
At home,
The very walls are the support.
Leo Tolstoy I leave you with that thought this week,
Week five.
Look forward to week six.
And give it a thought,
A turn for yourself.
Where do you begin to use what you hold in your hand to fortify yourself?
Fortify those walls.
Awaken creative.
Today.
