This series consists of a collection of letters for young women, letters to celebrate, console and encourage during a time in life that can feel relentlessly hard and alienating. In this letter, the body is given an apology. The body is innocent, yet we go to battle with it every day, constantly wanting it to be different and rarely stopping to acknowledge the miracle of it all.

Kalah you Place both of your hands on your chest and take a deep inhale As you breathe in Imagine that your breath is traveling in through your nose and going deep into your heart And the rhythm of your heart and your breath are connecting greeting each other Do this a couple of times at your own pace and start to feel yourself arriving in your body Dear body,

I have an apology I looked at you in the mirror today with hungry eyes I wanted to know will you be enough?

Will you make me feel desirable,

Attractive,

Included and confident?

I wasn't sure Your thighs are looking a bit lumpy and your tummy is never flat enough and your skin is starting to look different Older I looked through the lens of a question Will my body be enough?

The question made me tired,

My body felt heavy and ached with the knowledge that I've been asking that same question since I was a teenager I've been waiting and searching for a time when I would know that my body had finally provided me with self-worth But today was slightly different I was also able to ask myself different questions Questions that somewhere deep in my being I know will guide me home Will my heart be open?

Will my resolve be strong?

Will my values be lived?

Will my creativity flow?

Will my compassion be present?

And will my courage show?

Don't get into the habit of bullying the miracle of your physical being If you catch yourself looking in the mirror and wishing you could change your body Make this smaller,

That flatter Imagine you were saying this to your best friend or your daughter I bet it wouldn't even cross your mind to be this cruel to someone you love This doesn't mean you shouldn't be honest with yourself and sometimes challenge yourself to achieve a goal But get clear on your intention If your intention is to get thinner so you can be loved by others and therefore love yourself,

Think again You will never end up loving yourself more by following this path It's a complicated thing being a human,

A spiritual being in a physical body But remember that this body is a one-off,

A perfect manifestation of creation And your home for your short time on Earth

Such a beautiful reminder to love what we are blessed with and not what we dream of. ❤️‍🩹

Yes! We all need to hear this and remember it . I finally learned to accept and love all parts of me including my body much later in life then necessary…and now that I’m getting older I needed to hear this again. Ty! Namaste 💜💫

That was me. It wasnt until I put my focus on being a more loving and kind person to all beings that I learned how to be my own best friend to my body. I give my body the gratitude it deserves for taking such good care of me despite how cruel and detached I treated her. Today, i bow to her with the deepest respect and love. 💙☮️🌎. I have listened to you Jane and Your meditations resonate with me. I send them to my friends on their journey. Thank you 🙏🏼
