The Hello and welcome back to a new episode of the week of peace and day three,
Breath.
Make sure that you are sitting very,
Very comfortably.
Close your eyes.
Follow my voice as we begin with step one.
Notice this first step is a moment of great kindness to self.
A pause where we ask,
How are we feeling?
How are we doing?
How does the world look and feel today?
So just take a moment,
All the question,
How am I today?
And notice what comes back.
No judgment,
Just noticing and accepting.
And from this place of kindness,
Let's move now to step two.
Breathe.
So just bring your inner gaze,
Your attention to your breath now.
And just notice it's rise and fall.
It's in and out.
It's rhythm.
And just be here,
Breathing,
Being resting.
And now just imagine that your breath is moving in and out through your heart and the rhythm of your breath and the rhythm of your heart are joining together,
Resting together,
Being together and just drop into the space of peace that they weave together for you.
And now let's go together to step three,
Activate.
Today,
We're going to really consider the miracle of breath.
Something we take completely for granted,
Something we are mostly unaware of,
But it is the key to our experience of life.
And as you listen to my voice,
Keep your focus on your breath.
Study,
Inhale and exhale.
There was a particular moment when you took your first breath and it has been running ever since,
Present in every moment of your life,
The background to every thought,
Every emotion,
Every event.
And your breath may change from time to time,
Sometimes shallow and jagged,
Sometimes deep and peaceful,
But it has never stopped.
It is always available to you.
You may be sad or stressed or angry,
But your breath isn't.
It just is constant,
Connecting you to life.
You may have judgments,
Opinions,
Views,
But your breath doesn't.
It transcends every experience.
It holds no judgments of you or anything around you.
It is the very center of calm.
And when we connect to it,
We connect to our ability to respond rather than to react.
We connect to our capacity for peace.
So let yourself take a few moments to feel gratitude with this miracle at the very center of your being,
The generous,
Kindness and constancy of your breath.
And now let's move to step four,
Peace beam.
As you feel yourself expand into your breath and relax into that calm,
Imagine that with every breath,
You are wishing unrestricted good,
Unrestricted peace for yourself and for everybody whose path crosses yours today.
And to anchor this practice,
Set the intention that every breath that you make today adds to the atmosphere of peace around you.
