When I was 13,
I got quite a dramatic lesson in how to meet challenges,
How to deal with obstacles.
So,
In September,
It started the school year,
And I decided I really wanted to do a one-armed cartwheel.
I was obsessed with it.
So,
I kept trying and failing miserably.
It's like my arm would always come down.
I just couldn't do it.
So,
I tried obsessively for a couple of weeks,
Maybe longer.
I got quite frustrated with myself.
Anyway,
I forgot about it.
I gave up.
I forgot about it.
But I didn't particularly feel bad about myself.
But I just gave up.
Oh well,
I guess I can't do it.
So,
Months afterwards,
It was one spring morning,
And it was a Saturday morning,
Very sunny,
Crisp Vancouver weather.
And I went outside,
And I felt so joyful that I just did a one-armed cartwheel.
And then after that,
I could do them.
That's the secret of change.
I mean,
Whether you could do a one-armed cartwheel or not,
I mean,
Actually,
The cartwheel is not important.
It was just so surprising to me that I did it,
But the cartwheel is not important.
It's the,
You know,
Feeling the desire,
Making some effort.
And then,
You know,
If it doesn't come true right away,
Maybe just forget about it.
But your subconscious and your soul will keep,
You know,
Working at it for you.
If it's like if it's a heartfelt desire,
Which mine really was,
If it's a heartfelt desire and in your highest good,
It will just happen.
And,
You know,
It helped me trust the universe.
This experience helped me trust myself and trust the universe.
It was a very pivotal experience.
Anyway,
Just keep going.
You know,
Keep your mind open as possible,
Your heart open as possible.
Forgive yourself and just keep going.
Blessings.
