Preparing for the practice of deep relaxation.

Lying on your back in Shavasana,

Allow yourself to take up space.

Arms and legs spread wide from the body.

And then surrender to stillness.

Allow yourself to be heavy.

Feel the weight of your body as it presses into the floor or into the bed.

Allowing yourself to be held.

If you don't have a blanket covering you,

Visualize now an energetic blanket.

Tuck yourself in and imagine how it keeps you safe and keeps you warm.

And whether your blanket is energetic or real,

Know now that this blanket acts as a shield to protect you from any thoughts that may arise and helps you to keep your mind calm.

Now bring your awareness to your breath.

Without changing anything,

Just notice the rise of your belly in your chest as you inhale and the fall of your chest in your belly as you exhale.

See if you can feel into the beat of your heart,

Its consistency,

Its persistence,

As it keeps you going through this life.

Then notice the feeling of the air on your skin,

The fit of your clothes on your body.

And now take your awareness outside of your own body,

Outside your energetic field,

Into the room and into the extended space around you.

What can you hear?

Perhaps you can hear birds outside in the trees,

Maybe the central heating,

Perhaps the cars outside on the road.

Just notice,

Feel in to the sounds of life around you without judging,

Without wishing any of it would change,

Knowing it's all part of your practice.

And then drawing your awareness in,

Back to your breath,

Taking a big inhale and a full exhale.

Now bringing your awareness to your right big toe,

Without moving it,

Just feel its presence.

And now on the tip of your right big toe,

Place a tiny bright white light right there on the tip.

Place a tiny white light on the tip of your second right toe,

Place one on your third right toe,

One on your fourth right toe,

And place a tiny bright white light on the tip of your little right toe.

Place a tiny white light on the sole of your right foot,

One on your heel,

One on your right ankle,

One on your right calf,

And place a tiny white light on your right knee,

One on your right thigh,

One on your right hip,

And place a tiny white light on your right waist.

Place a tiny white light on your right shoulder,

Place one on your right upper arm,

Place a tiny bright white light on your right elbow,

One on your right forearm,

And one in the center of your right palm.

Place a tiny bright white light on the tip of your right thumb,

On your forefinger,

Your middle finger,

Your ring finger,

And a little white light on the tip of your little finger.

Place a tiny white light on your left shoulder,

Place one on your left upper arm,

One on your left elbow,

And place a tiny bright white light on your left forearm.

One on your wrist,

One in the center of your left palm,

And then place a tiny bright white light on the tip of your left thumb,

Your left first finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

And place a tiny bright white light on the tip of your little finger.

Place a tiny bright white light on your left waist,

One on your left hip,

Your left thigh,

Left knee,

Left calf,

Left heel,

One on the left sole of your foot,

And place a tiny bright white light on the tip of your left big toe.

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

And one on the tip of your little toe.

Place a tiny bright white light at the very base of your spine,

Place one on your sacral chakra,

Place a tiny bright white light right above your navel,

And another right in the very center of your chest.

Take a moment on this one to make sure it's shining extra brightly.

Place a tiny bright white light in the center of your throat,

Place one in the middle of your forehead,

And place a tiny bright white light right on the very crown of your head.

Now bring your awareness to your full body.

Notice how it glows with bright white light.

And now bring your attention back to the heaviness of your physical body.

Feel yourself pressing into the surface below you.

Feel the weight of your legs,

Of your torso,

Of your arms and shoulders,

And the heaviness of your head as you begin to sink through the floor.

You become so heavy that your physical body begins to melt and dissolve completely,

Until all that's left is your body a bright white light.

Notice the space you now have in your body.

Notice your lightness.

Notice the ether that runs through you.

And keep your attention on the brightness of the white light that's comprising your body.

And notice now your new light body begins to lift up off the floor,

So you're floating.

So light that you're able to float right up off the bed or the floor.

And just gently hover.

Now begin to see what you can do with your new lightness.

Get creative with your new light body.

Maybe you can swim through the air,

Sausage roll over and over.

Maybe try some somersaults.

Travel through the ether and enjoy your weightlessness.

And now begin to find stillness again.

Bringing your light body back into savasana.

Still hovering just a little bit off the floor.

And then bring your awareness underneath you.

Where your physical body still lies in savasana and complete relaxation underneath you.

Line yourself back up.

And ever so slowly,

Ever so gently,

Begin to lower your light body back down to meet your physical body.

Pausing just a moment to remember that once you're back in your physical form,

Your light body is still with you.

Still there.

Glowing with bright white light inside your physical body.

And you can return to its lightness,

To its weightlessness,

To its ethereal freedom whenever you need to.

Now as you take a deep inhale,

Lower your light body down to reunite with your physical body.

Taking a big inhale as you reunite.

And as you exhale,

Move back into the space of your physical body.

Coming back to the breath.

Noticing the rise of your belly and your chest as you inhale.

And the fall of your chest and your belly as you exhale.

Noticing the weight of your body on the bed or mat underneath you.

Noticing how you're held.

If you're ready to come back,

Just to make sure you've come back to the right body,

You can begin to give your fingers and your toes a little wiggle.

Rocking your head from side to side.

You can remain here in Shavasana if you're ready to fall asleep.

But if you're ready to come back,

Roll over onto your right side.

Take a moment here,

There's absolutely no rush.

Have you already?

Press into your left hand and come up to a comfortable seated position,

Keeping the eyes closed.

We will end with the sound of creation,

The universal mantra om.

Bring your palms to heart centre.

Spine is long.

Sound of the head reaching up to the sky.

Om.

Om Nirmashivaya.

Namaste.

I slipped between consciousness and gravity, light and molten pool of dark, sound and silence but over all I set my sense to absence and woke to peace Thank you. I may manage more with practice.

That was so Divinely simple and so relaxing! I could have fallen asleep if I hadn't just got up! Loved the bright white light technique...it was so rewarding to become my light body and do somersaults! Thank you, will listen again!
