Come into a comfortable position.
Take a couple of nice deep breaths.
Now I invite you to turn your attention towards a place in your body where you feel a sense of discomfort.
Now instead of analyzing that feeling and trying to figure anything out with your mind,
Turn your attention to your body.
Notice where you feel this discomfort the most.
Is it in your chest,
Your belly,
Your shoulders?
And then take a deep breath and inhale into the feeling.
Imagine the breath filling the area where you feel this discomfort.
And as you exhale,
Release any tension or heaviness.
And then with a kindness and curiosity,
Inquiring to your body,
What do you need to show me?
Or what are you trying to tell me?
And as you breathe and simply place your awareness on this area of discomfort,
Simply be present without judgment.
And notice what arises.
Your body may take some time to respond.
Be patient and continue to breathe into the feeling as you wait.
And notice any sensations or thoughts that arise.
And when your body is ready,
Listen to its response.
It may be a physical sensation,
An image,
A word or a phrase.
Whatever it is,
Honor the wisdom of your body and allow yourself to feel and understand its message.
And when you're ready to bring closure to this practice,
Simply deepen your breath,
Deepening your inhale and your exhale,
Bringing a little more aliveness into the body.
