Balance in the Eight Worldly Winds of Equanimity Today I am Equanimous.

I will keep my composure by undisturbing my balanced state of mind.

I know that the Eight Worldly Winds might be in constant state of change.

The Eight Worldly Winds are pain and pleasure,

Success and failure,

Praise and blame,

Fame and disrepute.

At times I do find myself too far to one side or too attached to fame,

To pleasure,

To praise,

And maybe even to gain.

But I know life is in a constant change,

Like the weather,

The temperature,

Like my body,

My income,

My popularity,

And my state of mind.

So as I notice the constant change in me,

I will know that good or bad,

High or low,

Up and down,

Are never permanent and there is always an ending to them all.

That makes me feel calm and at peace.

Today I will notice the Eight Worldly Winds in constant change around me.

And like a bamboo tree,

I will stay flexible and strong.

I am Equanimous.
