Putting Past Pain to Rest in Peace Today I lay my past pain to rest.

The past has passed and I am not going to live in the mortuary,

In the crematorium,

In the cemetery of my old,

Unneeded memories anymore.

If I choose to revisit the discomforts of my past,

I am the only one who will suffer.

So why dig up the casket and visit the cadaver of hurtful memories,

Incidents,

And people of my past?

Visiting the past pain with a plan to replenish and replant,

To work through unresolved trauma,

Is beneficial.

But revisiting the past without an action plan is actually hurtful to me and I am not going to hang on to the past pain,

But simply learn from it and move on.

I put my past pain to rest in peace.
