This is Sarah and I'm so happy to be back with you again.
This practice is for the full moon and lunar eclipse in Taurus that's happening on Friday the 19th of November in 2021.
If you haven't listened to one of these sessions before,
The idea is that we start with some information on the full moon and the astrology of the full moon and then we spend some time journaling together.
So if you haven't already,
Now would be a good time to pause and grab a pen and a piece of paper or a notebook or your journal and find a cosy space to sit down.
Make sure that you're comfortable and make sure you won't be disturbed for the next little while and let's just take some time out for ourselves to think about the themes that might be showing up in our lives at the moment and really reflect on them and think about how we can move forward with this powerful energy that we are about to experience.
This full moon on Friday is a lunar eclipse and a lunar eclipse happens when the earth,
The moon and the sun are in an alignment.
So the moon is traveling through the earth's shadow.
So the earth is in between the sun and the moon.
It's a partial lunar eclipse.
So it's only partly traveling through the umbra or the shadow of the earth.
But it's considered to be quite a powerful one because it's going to be visible from large,
Large areas of the world.
So the majority of North America and Europe here in the UK will all be able to see at least some of this partial lunar eclipse.
So the more places it's visible in,
The more powerful an eclipse is said to be.
And you might also see a lot of content that says that eclipses are fated and that they bring destined events.
And here's why.
Eclipses happen around about the lunar nodes.
So the lunar nodes are not a tangible planet or a thing,
They're a mathematical point.
And it's where the moon crosses paths with the sun.
So it's moving from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere.
So we've got the north node and we've got the south node or the high point and the low point.
And when the moon on its orbit crosses paths with the sun,
That's when we get these eclipses.
And in astrology,
The north node and the south node are said to be your destiny.
So your north node would be the highest manifestation of you.
And your south node is where you came from.
And the path that we walk in life is from the south node to the north node and the lessons that we learn along the way.
So if you like,
You can find out where your north and south node are in your birth chart.
The nodes change signs round about every 18 months to two years.
So that's why we have eclipses in the same two signs for round about that period.
So this eclipse on Friday is the first in the series on the Taurus and Scorpio axis.
And we're going to be working with these themes right through until October of 2023.
So we've got a lot of time to think about the energy of Taurus and Scorpio.
And we have a lot of lunar and solar eclipse energies to work with.
So we're going to have some new moons where we can really make a new beginning.
And we have some full moons where we can release things.
You might also see some content out there that tells you not to work with the energy of an eclipse.
And I really think that's a personal choice.
A lot of people feel that they are big energy and maybe too big to work with.
And that because they are eclipses,
Things are partially concealed.
So we might not see the whole story.
Eclipses unfold over this period of sort of 18 months to two years.
But you can work with the energy of eclipses if you feel called to.
So that's a personal choice for you to make.
So we're winding up Scorpio season with the first eclipse on the Taurus and Scorpio axis.
So let's think about those two themes and the opposition between them.
We know that at the full moon,
The moon is directly opposite to the sun.
So we're thinking about the sun and Scorpio and the moon and Taurus and how those energies are opposing each other.
Taurus we know is all about security and stability.
It's a fixed earth thing.
It's about financial security.
It's about comfort.
It's about luxury.
It's about indulgence.
Taurus likes the good things in life.
But particularly those themes of financial security and also feeling grounded and safe and secure and maybe even a little bit stubborn and fixed earth doesn't like change and it doesn't like to move.
And then we've got Scorpio on the other side.
And Scorpio is a fixed thing too.
But it's a water sign.
And Scorpio likes to transform things.
Scorpio likes to look deep down at the emotional depths and it likes to confront our deepest fears,
Our deepest anxieties,
Our deepest worries,
Our deepest hurts and our deepest wounds and transform them into something new.
Scorpio is very much about emotional security versus Taurus and all things material.
So material security,
Material abundance versus those Scorpio themes of deep,
Deep held emotions.
So we have some time to work on these areas of our lives and to really think about these themes and we see them playing out across the world stage at the moment.
We're going to focus in on us and focus in on what we can take personally from the themes of Taurus and of Scorpio and how we might want to work with them.
Fulmans are always the high point of the lunar cycle,
The energy is at its highest.
And a lunar eclipse is a really powerful fulman.
This fulman is at 27 degrees of Taurus,
So almost at the end of Taurus.
And Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac.
So the first sign of a zodiac is Aries.
So when we're in Aries,
We're thinking about the self.
It's the beginning of the zodiac.
It's March time.
It's the beginning of the seasons.
It's spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
And it's all about the self and all about who we are and our identity.
It's about new ideas.
It's about moving forward with energy and passion and drive and fire.
And then we have steady,
Reliable Taurus that comes next.
And Taurus says,
OK,
You have all these ideas.
You have that fire,
That passion underneath you,
That drive to move forward.
You know who you are,
But what brings you comfort?
What brings you security?
What's the foundation that you're moving forward from?
The second house in astrology is concern with value.
And that means money and how we make it.
And it means our financial security.
But it also means our value and how we value ourselves.
What is our self worth like?
What is our self confidence like?
What is our self esteem like?
All things that we value in the second house.
So not just those material things that we value,
Our possessions,
The salary that we make from the job that we do that brings us that security,
But how we value ourselves.
Because we are our most valuable asset,
Right?
So let's start to think about our journal imprints.
And let's ask a question first that might feel quite difficult to answer.
But let's take those second house themes and let's first ask ourselves,
How do I value myself?
Simple question.

And since we're thinking about ourselves and how we value ourselves,

And I think a lot of us might find that we don't.
And investing in yourself doesn't just mean spending money to learn something new,
Buying new clothes,
Getting your hair done so that you present yourself in a certain way to the world.
Investing in yourself also means things like self care.
It means setting boundaries.
It's all the things that you do to help you be the best version of yourself.
And a lot of the time we give all the love and compassion to others in our lives,
But we don't always give it to ourselves.
So let's answer this question.

Before we move on to the Scorpio side of this eclipse,
One more question around the financial security element.
We have Venus moving through Capricorn at the moment.
It's going to be there until March next year because it's going to retrograde in December and January.
Venus is about our relationship to things.
It's about love and it's about money.
Capricorn is about structures.
It's about banks.
It's about governments.
It's about corporations.
It's about big business.
And across the world,
We can see that we are collectively re-evaluating our relationship with money,
With corporations,
With capitalism,
All these things.
So let's just take a minute to think about what our relationship with money and with financial security is like.
Is there any work that we need to do there?
Well,
Venus is in Capricorn.
It's in Capricorn for a few months now.
What is my relationship with money and financial security like?
Through the eclipses,
We have opportunities to really let go if we choose to.
So is there anything that's tied up here in how you value yourself and how you invest in yourself?
Your self-worth,
Your self-confidence,
Your self-esteem,
And the importance that you place on yourself that influences your relationship with money?
And is there any structure there that you have built up around yourself,
Maybe in your self-worth,
Your self-confidence,
And your self-esteem that needs to crumble?
Well,
Venus is in Capricorn.

And is that tied up in any way to how we value ourselves?
We're joining the dots of a puzzle.
Let's start to think now about the opposition between Taurus and Scorpio.
Scorpio season is just about to draw to a close.
And at the very end of Scorpio season,
So on the 21st of November,
You'll be able to see a constellation that I think everybody in the world recognizes at their highest point in the sky.
And when I looked into this,
I think we have different pronunciations in the UK and in America and across the world.
So in the UK,
You might hear them called the Pleiades.
In America,
Maybe the Pleiades or even the Pleiades.
So I'm going to go with Pleiades.
And you also might know them as the Seven Sisters.
And they are that really bright little constellation of stars all together that are just near Orion's belt,
So those three stars.
And I think most of us across the world know them.
And there are stories that go back hundreds of thousands of years about these stars and this constellation.
And they're actually in Taurus.
They're at 29 degrees of Taurus.
So they're just a little bit further on from where this full moon eclipse will be.
And just about every culture across the world,
There is a story about them.
And the main one is that they were the Seven Sisters and they were the daughters of Atlas.
And Orion the hunter came hunting them.
And to save them,
Zeus sent them up into the sky as stars.
He also sent Orion up there too,
Very close to them,
Chasing after them,
But not close enough that he could actually catch them.
The Pleiades have been used for thousands of years to signify the changing of the seasons.
They are used in the southern hemisphere to know when it's time to plant seeds.
In the northern hemisphere,
They actually were something that signified what eventually became the holiday that is now Halloween.
And when they were at their highest in the sky around midnight,
That was considered to be Halloween.
So the time when they say that the veil is thinnest between the worlds.
And because of the procession of the equinoxes,
So the Earth's wobble and how it moves,
That date has moved over the years.
And it's actually now on the 21st of November.
So they are at their highest and they are at their most visible in the sky on the 21st of November.
And I think that that's wonderful because we are in Scorpio season.
And how very Scorpio to be thinking about that holiday of Halloween where the veil is thinnest and if we look at the symbolism around Halloween and if you are a tarot reader,
The card that is associated with Scorpio is the death card.
The death card is my favorite tarot card because it signifies metaphorical death and rebirth.
It signifies transformation and building something new.
So let's lean in to that energy that comes just a couple of days after this film and let's lean into Scorpio and the power to transform while these beautiful sister stars are at their highest in the sky and the veil is the thinnest and the guidance that we need is open to us.
Let's think about vulnerability.
Scorpio likes to dive deep,
Right?
It likes to dig up our fears,
Our worries,
Our anxieties.
It likes us to look at them so that we can transform them.
And a lot of the time we seek security in material things.
We seek security in the house that we have,
The possessions that we have,
The income that we have.
We seek happiness in material things.
We seek all of this outside ourselves.
But actually within us is everything that we already need.
We're often reluctant to share any of our deepest feelings with other people because we're afraid of rejection,
We're afraid of being truly seen and we're afraid of what might happen.
But if you're familiar with the work of Brene Brown who is a wonderful teacher,
She talks about vulnerability and she talks about her concept of wholehearted people and wholehearted people in her studies tended to be the happiest people and they were the people who were not afraid to be vulnerable.
They were not afraid to say how they felt,
To show how they felt,
To put themselves out there,
To show up,
To stand up,
To speak up.
And even if it didn't work out,
Even if they were rejected,
They did it and they were happier for doing it.
So let's finish by asking ourselves this question.

And finally,

You can make a list of anything that you want to let go of,
Anything that you want to transform in this last few days of Scorpio season with a fated and destined lunar eclipse happening.
You might just want to reflect this month and you might not want to do any of this type of work until we're into January because the next two moons,
This full moon and the next new moon are both eclipses.
So maybe you want to wait until that energy has passed and maybe things might be a little bit clearer,
But you choose.
And whatever you decide to do,
