Hello,
My friends.
I invite you to take a moment to settle in,
Allowing the body to soften,
Allowing the breath to come naturally.
There's nowhere you need to go,
Nothing you need to do.
Simply,
Be here.
Today we reflect on a moment from Mark chapter 15,
Verses 6 to 11.
A crowd is gathered,
A choice is offered for Rabbith,
A man involved in violent insurrection.
A man who had taken life,
And Yeshua,
A teacher of peace,
A presence of love,
A quiet embodiment of something deeper.
And yet,
The crowd chooses Barabbas,
Not randomly,
Rather stirred,
Influenced,
Guided by fear,
By those in power who felt threatened.
Because somehow,
Love was more dangerous,
Love was more dangerous,
Peace was more disruptive.
Yeshua did not raise a weapon,
Did not lead a rebellion of force,
And yet,
This way of loving,
This way of being,
Was seen as the greater threat.
Simply,
Notice that.
Fear and violence can be predictable,
It can be controlled,
Justified,
Contained.
True love,
Love transforms,
Love dismantles fear,
Love exposes what is false and invites something entirely new,
And that can feel dangerous.
Pacifism is more powerful than violence,
Peace is more threatening than insurrection,
Love is the most dangerous of uprisings.
So,
In this moment,
Be still,
Let yourself rest in the quiet presence within,
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,
Noticing whatever arises,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Resistance,
Openness,
Welcoming it all just as it is,
And gently embrace a spirit of peace and loving kindness,
Not as weakness,
Rather as a quiet strength,
A strength that does not need to force,
A strength that does not need to fight,
A strength that simply is.
Perhaps,
Today,
You might carry this with you,
That choosing love,
Choosing peace,
Is not passive,
It is not small,
It is a powerful,
World-shaping,
Courageous uprising.
In ways both seen and unseen,
It changes everything.
And as we come to the end of this meditation,
I invite you,
In your own time,
To gently bring your awareness back,
Noticing the body,
The breath,
The space around you.
Thank you for taking this time to be present,
To be still,
To cultivate peace.
May grace and peace,
Light and love,
Be with you.
