There is an innate power within you,
Still,
Grounded,
Yet powerful.
We are all born with a flame that shines brighter than the sun,
A flame that can never be extinguished.
In moments of desperation,
That flame is found beneath the ashes,
Waiting for that breath of hope,
Perhaps quiet enough to ignite something within us.
Going through the seasons of the heart is inevitable,
But that ever-present flame is a sign of hope.
We can redirect the breath to keep blowing on it,
Learning to cultivate it.
The same source of power within you is found amongst the rest of us living on this planet.
We are our soil,
Our mountains,
Our trees,
Our lakes.
Our only job is to redirect that fire.
If your eyes are not closed,
Please gently close them and pay close attention to your feet.
Feel them completely rooted to the floor.
Anxious power lives in the chest and the throat.
Grounded power lives in the floor.
Let the floor hold your full weight.
You do not need to hold yourself up right now.
Now slowly lift your shoulders up to your ears.
Take a deep inhale and as you exhale,
Let them drop organically.
Slowly let's try that once again.
Inhale,
Lift your shoulders up to your ears and exhale,
Drop them back organically.
Feeling your chest open.
You may notice your breath anchoring you in the background,
Anchoring you to the present moment.
You might choose to keep a subtle focus on the breath for the rest of the practice.
Find your peace.
We spend our days hunched over screens in a protective freeze posture.
Right now,
I want you to take up space.
You may choose to turn your palms slightly upwards,
Resting the back of your hands on your lap,
Receiving,
Not bracing.
The word abracadabra traces back to ancient Aramaic.
It means I create as I speak.
You see your voice and your posture physically shape the reality of your nervous system.
So we are going to use that now.
Feel the full length of your arms.
Feel your feet grounded on the floor.
And let's take a deep inhale and a deep exhale.
Go ahead and repeat this three times at your own pace.
Now feel your body taking up space in this room.
Repeat these words gently,
Silently,
But feel every part of the meaning of each word.
Feel where it lands in your body.
Repeat after me.
My biology is regulated.
I move from a grounded nervous system.
I hold the room because I first hold myself.
Let's repeat those three phrases.
My biology is regulated.
I move from a grounded nervous system.
I hold the room because I first hold myself.
Let the words bathe you and feel the resonance in your chest.
Now,
Gently bring your attention to your heart.
When you come to face to face with that love,
Your only job is to relax your body and open your heart.
Let it as big as it needs to be.
Relax your body and open your heart.
Really learn to listen.
Listen at a cellular level.
Your inner fire will guide you.
Lift your face up to the sun.
Be proud of who you are.
Listen to your intuition.
The peace found within you is untouchable.
When you learn to listen to the world around you,
There is no denial of its immense beauty.
The same beauty lives within you.
The real work is your inner connection.
Love is the source of the fire within you.
Find that love and dive deeper into it.
The deeper you go,
The more you touch peace.
The more love finds you.
As we come to the end of our practice,
I want to leave you with the words of David White.
The antidote to exhaustion is not necessarily rest.
The antidote to exhaustion is wholeheartedness.
Take a deep breath in and exhale through the mouth.
When you are biologically regulated,
You do not need to hide.
You do not need to rush.
You can simply be wholehearted.
Now gently open your eyes.
Remember where you came from.
