From Chez Piñata,

I'm Colleen Thomas.

This is Daily Magic for Peace.

Today we will honor the volunteers helping at the borders.

Welcome to the circle.

So today all you need is a clipboard.

Now,

Chances are you might not have a clipboard handy,

So if you don't have one handy,

Grab something that makes you feel official.

I welcome you as you join us today.

I invite you to take your seat in the circle and look around in your mind's eye at these other invisible people who are also listening to this episode and joining us in circle today.

And they could be listening at any time from any space,

And they're all still magically part of the circle.

As we get started today,

I invite you to join me in taking a breath and noticing the space you're in right now.

Just looking around,

Seeing what you can see.

And let's try to find some colors.

This is a very simple way of presencing ourself in the moment a little differently.

So let's look for blue.

What around you is blue?

Don't forget to look behind you.

And what is yellow?

Yellow or golden?

How many yellow,

Golden things can you see?

And now let's take one more breath and just notice how you feel.

Having this kind of focused attention with our senses,

In this case,

Sight,

Is one simple way of coming into the moment and connecting with that grounding cord,

Effortlessly dropping our attention down,

Down through whatever we're sitting,

Standing,

Or lying on,

Down through what's beneath that,

And what's beneath that,

And what's beneath that,

And effortlessly dropping to the center of the earth,

Down,

Down,

Down,

Connecting with the center of the planet,

Releasing anything we don't need,

And beginning to slowly pull up the rich,

Nurturing earth energy.

Maybe as we're still releasing,

We can do both at once,

It's fine.

Bringing up that energy,

Bringing it up,

Up,

Up,

Up,

Up into our body,

Through our chakras,

Starting at the bottom,

And extending very gently all the way up through our head,

Going out the crown of our head,

We're gonna go all the way up,

Up through the space above you,

Up through the ceiling or whatever's directly above you,

And above that,

And above that,

And above that,

Going up,

Up,

Up,

Up,

Up,

And out,

Out to the center of the universe or the heavens,

Whatever is up there for you,

Connecting all the way up now,

And feeling that balance between above and below,

And now bringing down some of that heavenly cosmic energy,

Back,

Back,

Back down,

All the way down into our bodies,

Through our crown of our head and down into our body,

And we can allow that earth and sky energy maybe to mix in our heart,

Just allow the beautiful blending of these two energies,

And if you want,

You can allow those energies in your heart to expand,

To fill your body,

Every little nook and cranny of your body,

Any place that might be sore or snarky today,

And maybe even filling your aura,

Filling your bubble space with this beautiful earth and sky energy,

And now I invite you to grab your clipboard or your item,

And if you don't have an item today that matches this description,

Just maybe imagine holding a clipboard.

I actually happen to have a clipboard,

But I was planning to imagine one,

And then I found one.

I know clipboards are a bit outdated,

And these days probably a volunteer would be holding an iPad or a phone or something like that,

And today I wanted us to step into this role and imagine holding something of this nature,

Say holding a clipboard and standing at the border of Ukraine.

Just imagine this.

This might be something you've actually done,

But probably it's something you're gonna be like me and imagine doing.

Imagine standing there,

So many parts to this.

I am gonna just barely scratch the surface of I'm sure what it would actually be like to stand there with a clipboard at the border of Ukraine right now.

So much responsibility,

Really high body trauma happening,

Elevated fear,

Elevated sense of community,

A really,

Really intense and important job,

So consequential,

And such a gift of time as a volunteer.

There's a nonprofit based in Minneapolis here in the U.

S.

Called Alight,

And they have sent a special team of humanitarian workers and emergency response folks to the border of Ukraine and Poland,

And these experts are meeting the women and children as they're coming out and figuring out,

With the clipboard probably or something like that,

Figuring out with them what's next,

And these are the type of people we really wanna honor today.

They are right there doing the work.

Probably a lot of us would just go if we could,

But a lot of us,

The borders of Ukraine are too far away,

So I'd like to share with you some ideas on how those of us who can't go to the borders of Ukraine can help from afar.

One thing is that we can donate to a place like Alight in Minneapolis,

Or Feminist Workshop,

Which is based in Lviv,

Or something like that.

Another thing we can do is we can contact our local congresspeople or senators or government official and demand that they provide humanitarian and financial assistance to the women and children of Ukraine.

And the third thing is if you have a brand or you have a platform,

You can spread this message that you care about this,

And you can ask people to make a donation,

And you can talk about what's going on with friends.

You can stay aware and stay awake of what is unfolding,

And you can join me in this moment in just sending some love.

Again,

Back to Mr.

Rogers and his quote about look for the helpers.

Yes,

This terrible thing is happening,

And at the same time,

Look at all the people that are showing up.

There are people at these borders helping in ways that are kind of unprecedented.

It's a very striking thing to see.

So I wanna send my love,

And I invite you to join me in sending your love to the people who are showing up.

Send them our respect and our love,

And support them any way that feels right to us.

Thank you to the volunteers.

Thank you for being there,

For being in such close proximity to what is unfolding,

Showing up with your bodies and your clipboards,

Your iPads,

Whatever it is you have.

Thank you for your work.

Thank you for your service.

Thank you for caring and showing up.

May you be safe.

May you realize that what you're doing is so important.

May it be so.

Thank you so much for being with us today.

Your presence,

Your energy,

And your heart make all the difference in healing our world.

Remember to breathe today.

Breathe and expand.

And I hope you join us again next time.

And please consider inviting a friend.
