Welcome,
And thank you for joining me today for this time of inspiration and reflection.
Take a moment now to ground yourself,
Breathing in gently,
And finding that space within you that is gentle and peaceful.
Nourishment.
The dictionary defines the word nourishment as the food or other substances necessary for growth,
Health,
And good condition.
Another definition is that it is the action of nourishing someone or something.
Where do I find nourishment from my physical body,
My mental mind,
And my spiritual self?
I find nourishment in a red apple,
A bright orange,
A white peach,
In red beans and yellow corn,
In the arms of an ironwood tree in Saguaro Park West,
In the tide pools of Mexico,
In my feet buried in the sand of the Pacific Coast Beach.
I find nourishment in the words of Thich Nhat Hanh,
In words and poetry of Maya Angelou,
In the words of Mary Oliver,
I find nourishment in asking for help and receiving that which I could not give myself.
In time spent celebrating friends,
In moments of honoring loved ones who have passed,
I am filled inside through music and song,
Through the harmonious choir of voices that join together as one.
I am nourished by a source unseen,
Bigger than myself and yet smaller than a microbe,
Only to be larger yet in the expanding universe,
Infinite life in one grain of sand,
A living translucent breathing light that never fades out.
I am nourished by food,
Sustained by loving relationships,
Embraced by all creation.
How do you wish to be nourished by life?
And in what way can you nourish the people and things in your life that are important to you?
I invite you to reflect on these questions throughout your day.
Thank you for joining me and may your day be filled with blessings.
