
Relax Into My Power Yoga Nidra

This yoga Nidra meditation is your chance to deeply relax the mind, body & emotions in order to create space for your soul power to emerge. Suggested props: yoga mat or a comfy place to lay down, eye pillow, lavender, or other relaxing essential oil & blanket.

Hello empowered souls.
So today I am going to share with you one of my favorite practices.
It is called Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra is the deep relaxation exercise.
The point of which is not about falling asleep,
Although it does happen sometimes.
But Yoga Nidra for me is more about deeply relaxing my body and my mind and my emotions so much that I'm really able to feel the power of my soul essence more.
In other words it's about letting go of our human effort in order to let the truly powerful part of ourselves rise to the surface.
Today we will be focused on boosting our sense of power and confidence via the Solar Plexus Chakra in this practice.
I always like to use a few props with Yoga Nidra.
First of all it's great to lay down.
In fact it's preferable to lay down during this practice.
So if you have a yoga mat that's optimal but you can also lay down on a couch or a bed.
You're just probably a little more likely to fall asleep there.
You will likely want a blanket if the room is cool.
And then I like to use a couple of other props.
So one of my favorites is an eye pillow.
This one is filled with organic buckwheat and lavender and it's got the perfect amount of weight so that when I lay down and lay it over my eyes it instantly soothes and calms me.
I also like to use a little essential oil.
You could use any kind of relaxing essential oil.
Chamomile,
Lavender,
Anything that helps you feel relaxed.
In my case I will be using lavender and I want to recommend putting it on a couple of places on your body.
First take a drop and place it on one of your palms and then just gently massage it in to where the neck and the skull come together.
Then I recommend taking another drop and then swiping back and forth across the forehead from side to side,
From temple to temple.
And then finally if you have any stones or crystals my favorite for the solar plexus is citrine.
So if you have a piece of citrine,
Citrine is a stone of both confidence and abundance.
I encourage you to place citrine over your solar plexus which is located about three finger widths above your navel,
Between the navel and the sternum.
Once you get settled take a moment to make any final movements,
Final adjustments to really get comfortable.
In an optimal Yoganidra situation once we are settled we resist the urge to move and just let go of the urge to move and that allows our bodies to go so deep into the relaxation.
If you have to move you have to move but it's optimal if you can resist that urge and really really relax.
Once you are settled I'm going to take you on a systematic relaxation of various parts of the body.
I encourage you to stay with the sound of my voice rather than lagging behind or trying to guess what is coming next.
When I say the part of the body I want you to just imagine that that part of the body so deeply relaxes it's as almost as if you're not aware of its existence any longer.
Let's start with your right thumb.
Bring your awareness to the right thumb and imagine it deeply relaxing.
Let that wave of relaxation continue into your right index finger,
Right middle finger,
Right ring finger,
Right kinky finger,
Palm of the right hand,
Back of the right hand,
Right wrist,
Right forearm,
Right elbow,
Right tricep,
Right bicep,
Top of the right shoulder,
Relax the right shoulder blade,
Right side of the upper back,
Right side of the mid back,
Right side of the lower back,
Right glute,
Right hamstring,
Back of the right knee,
Right calf,
Right Achilles,
Heel of the right foot,
Sole of the right foot,
Relax the right big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Pinky toe,
Top of the right foot,
Right ankle,
Right shin,
Front of the right knee,
Right quadricep,
Right hip crease,
Right side of the abdomen,
Right side of the ribcage,
Right side of the chest,
And right collarbone.
Now feel the entire right side of the body,
Below the neck,
Was so deeply relaxed.
And now I want you to bring your awareness into the left thumb.
Deeply relax the left thumb,
Left index finger,
Left middle finger,
Left ring finger,
Left pinky finger,
Palm of the left hand,
Back of the left hand,
Left wrist,
Left forearm,
Left elbow,
Left tricep,
Relax the left bicep,
Top of the left shoulder,
Left shoulder blade,
Left side of the upper back,
Left side of the middle back,
Left side of the lower back,
Left glute,
Left hamstring,
Back of the left knee,
Left calf,
Left Achilles,
Left heel,
Sole of the left foot,
Left big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Baby toe,
Top of the left foot,
Left ankle,
Left shin,
Front of the left knee,
Left quadricep,
Left hip crease,
Left side of the abdomen,
Left side of the ribs,
Left side of the chest,
Left collarbone.
I feel the entire body from the neck down is completely at ease and relaxed.
Even the internal organs are calm,
So efficient in their work that you don't even feel them.
Then relax the back of the neck,
The throat,
Right side of the jaw,
Left side of the jaw,
Relax the chin,
Lower lip,
Upper lip,
Right cheek,
Left cheek,
Right ear,
Left ear,
Right nostril,
Left nostril,
Bridge of the nose,
Right eye,
Left eye,
Right eyebrow,
Left eyebrow,
The entire right side of the head,
The entire left side of the head,
Relax the entire forehead,
And finally the top of the head.
Feel the most peaceful,
Calming,
Gentle wave of energy move through the crown of your head,
Gently slowly through to the tips of your fingers,
In the tips of your toes.
Now I'd like to share the next phase of yoga nidra with you.
We will count backwards,
Starting with the number 108.
We will count in the following manner,
Silently,
Without moving our mouths or lips.
Simply,
Silently,
In our minds.
Om shanti 108.
Om shanti 107.
Om shanti 106.
Om,
The universal sound.
Shanti,
Meaning peace.
I encourage you to start with 108 and count backwards all the way to zero,
Or until I ask you to release the count.
If you lose your place,
No worries.
It is definitely not a race.
Simply return to 108 and start over.
Begin when you are ready.
Wherever you are with this count,
I encourage you to release it.
Let it go.
And then once you have released it,
With your eyes still closed,
Imagine that you find yourself in the most beautiful,
Peaceful garden you have ever seen.
It must be located far away from any city or village,
For the only sounds are the sounds of nature.
You find yourself on that winding path in this garden.
Everywhere you look,
The most exotic and fragrant flowers with an intoxicating scent.
The butterflies with colors you've never seen before.
Dragonflies,
Multicolored.
And the songs of the birds are pure bliss.
There's the slightest gentle breeze lightly rustling the leaves.
And off in the distance,
The sound of flowing water.
As you continue walking down this path,
You come upon two large trees.
Grandfather tree and grandmother tree.
And stretched between them is an oh so inviting hammock.
Next to the trees and the hammock is a gurgling stream with little waterfalls trickling past you.
You stretch out in this hammock and close your eyes,
Still smelling that wonderful scent of the flowers.
Soothed and calmed by the gurgling sounds of the flowing water.
As you lay here,
A yellow butterfly lands on your solar plexus.
Just gently kissing your solar plexus.
This is the place of true power and true confidence.
I'd like you to imagine that within your solar plexus itself is a portal to infinite divine power,
Confidence,
Courage,
Motivation.
And when you access this power,
Limitations disappear.
Doubts no longer exist.
Fears no longer hold you back.
With zero effort,
Simply allow it.
Visualize a yellow sphere of light like a miniature sun at your solar plexus.
With each inhale,
You are drawing forth more of this limitless divine confidence,
Perseverance,
Strength.
With each exhale,
There's the gentle pulsation of the yellow light of your solar plexus.
I'd like you to imagine you are so deeply relaxed in this place that all you have awareness of is your soul consciousness itself.
It is as if the body has faded away.
It is as if the human mind with its limiting perspectives has faded away.
It is as if the dense emotions are long gone.
In this space,
You are the essence of divine confidence,
Courage,
Joy,
Exuberance,
Passion,
And excitement.
Just for a moment,
Be those frequencies effortlessly.
Without moving,
I invite you to think of a goal or a project that you have been working on.
Perhaps even struggling with.
Or perhaps you've struggled to even begin.
It's something you want.
Something you're excited about.
Something you're passionate about.
In this place of pure divine soul consciousness,
I'd like you to feel,
Sense,
See,
Taste,
Smell.
Have a fully immersive experience of this goal being achieved.
This project fully realized.
What does it feel like for it to have already happened?
How does it feel letting this infinite divine energy flow through you to make it happen?
Be the frequency of this goal achieved,
Project completed,
Just for one moment.
And just for a moment,
I want to ask your soul,
Your higher self,
To speak to you.
Is there anything at the human level you still need to do?
Feel the answer.
Is there anything at the human level that you need to not do?
Or any effort or control you need to release?
Feel the answer.
Now with clarity,
You know what is needed and what is not needed.
With the heavy lifting being done,
With your soul essence,
The energetic part of you,
Now your human efforts can be lighter,
Easier,
More simple.
During that awareness,
That vision of the goal achieved,
The dream fulfilled,
Back into your body in that hammock in the garden.
Feel it in your solar plexus.
Continue to hold that vision and bring yourself back into your body in the room in which we began this practice.
Still feeling that energy,
That strength,
That vision in your solar plexus.
When we complete this practice,
You will not be the same.
You will go forward with infinite divine confidence,
Power,
Strength,
And authority coursing through you.
It's not that you won't make human effort.
It's that your human effort will be wise and efficient,
No longer stressed,
Panicked,
Limited.
I invite you to gently welcome some movement into the fingers and the toes.
Slowly make some circles with the wrists and the ankles.
First in one direction,
And then in the opposite direction.
Slowly,
Gently roll your neck from side to side.
When you feel ready,
Roll over onto your most comfortable side into the fetal posture.
As if you have released the past and you are being reborn into the new energy.
When you feel ready for that rebirth,
Use your upper hand,
Upper arm,
To gently press yourself up to seated.
Bring your hands to your heart center.
May all of your actions,
Goals,
And efforts flow from a place of love.
Bring your hands in prayer position to the solar plexus.
May your true strength and source of power be your sole essence in your energy much more than your human sheer effort and strength.
And bring your hands in prayer position to the center of the forehead,
Thumbs pressing into the forehead.
May our thoughts reflect the wisdom of our souls.
You have a blissful rest of your day,
Week,
Month,
And so on.
