Chang Good evening.

Tonight we're going to practice a breathing meditation.

A meditation focused on breathing.

Where all your attention is on the breath.

You're zoomed in on your inhale.

And zoomed in on your exhale.

So ease into it by bringing the right hand to the belly and the left hand to heart center.

You're seeing the subtle rise and fall of the belly and chest as you inhale and exhale.

Notice how the breath organically gets deeper,

Slightly longer,

Naturally.

Simply by bringing mindfulness to your breath.

Let's inhale now for a count of four.

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Inhale one,

And returning to a natural breath.

With all your attention and focus on your breathing.

Although we may be used to breathing in through both nostrils.

They say the right nostril is strongly correlated to our yang energy,

Our solar energy.

The energy that propels us forward to complete task.

While our left nostril is strongly correlated to our yin energy.

The energy of quiet breath.

Where we heal,

Restore.

So tonight we will do a few rounds of breaths through our left nostril.

Bringing in this energy of quiet as we prepare for the night.

Bringing the right thumb to the right nostril.

Inhale through the left nostril for a count of four.

And then exhale through the left nostril for a count of four.

Inhale through the right nostril for a count of four.

Releasing your hand to your thigh.

Bringing the little finger to touch the thumb.

And stimulating the element of water.

This peaceful water ready for sleep.

Bringing the palms together at heart center,

Taking a slight tuck of the chin.

Honoring the infinite space and energy that we live in.

That resides inside of us,

Outside of us,

Expansive in all directions.

May you ease into a deep restful sleep this evening.

Namaste.
