This practice focuses the energy of the mind to tap into the parts of the body where discernment is required; our detoxification organs, our blood cleansers, and our energy transformers. It encourages us to make sure these processes are alive and awake in order to ensure optimal healing.

In today's session we're going to focus on detoxification of energy,

Of toxins,

Of anything that the body does not need and is actively looking to get rid of.

So I encourage you to,

If you have an opportunity to sauna or sit in a bath while you do this meditation,

Especially with some Epsom salts or something that can help your body to detox,

That is truly encouraged.

If you do not have access to either of those,

That is totally fine.

Just find a comfortable seated position or lying down where you can focus your energy on furthering detox.

Once you have found a comfortable position,

Start to become aware of your breathing.

Just normal breathing to start.

Focus on your exhalation in particular.

Realize that each exhalation is actually ridding your body of things that it no longer needs.

Unconsciously without even thinking,

Your body is doing the work to achieve optimal functioning and physiology.

As you kind of think about this and focus your energy on your exhalation,

Imagine that with each exhale,

The energy that does not serve you,

That your body is holding onto,

Is getting dispersed.

This energy could have a particular color.

You can visualize your inhalation energy as a different color to your exhalation energy.

And it's important to distinguish that this exhalation energy is not bad.

In fact,

The exhalation is fully necessary for the cycle to work properly.

Once you've kind of been able to visualize this energy leaving you,

This energy,

Toxins,

Carbon dioxide,

Air that no longer serves you,

Start to tap into the core of your body.

See if you can feel it.

Bring your attention to it.

And if you're having a hard time,

Go deeper.

Actually visualize inside your body.

Find its core.

This is where transformation happens.

This is where the alchemy happens.

This is where you take what you need,

What you've been given,

The air that you breathe in,

The energy that you receive.

And this is where it's transformed.

This is where you use what you need and you transform the rest into an exchange that you're ready to give back to the rest of the universe.

This is where detoxification happens,

You know,

In the belly of our body,

In our organs that are in our core.

This is where transformation happens.

Focus on that.

How does that spot feel?

Does it feel bogged down,

Full?

Does it feel light,

Effortless?

If it doesn't feel like it's working as optimally as it should,

Use some of that energy.

See if you can turn it on,

If you can ignite the fire.

It might be helpful to think about your organs,

Think about your gut,

The transformation that's required for your food to turn into energy.

Maybe focus on that area for a moment.

And when you've done that,

Move to the liver.

Invite the fire that's required to process the blood,

To rid the body of toxins,

To create bile for digestion for the transformation of your fat into energy.

Now move to the kidneys.

These beautiful organs do filtering of blood in their own way.

Tighten up that filter.

See if you can focus energy on making sure that you keep what you need and making sure that what you don't need is expelled.

Energy in the body is such a crucial concept because it helps us to discern what we truly need and what we do not need.

So when we talk about our filters and the permeability,

It doesn't necessarily mean that it makes it harder for us to hold on to what we need or less hard for us to hold on to what we need,

But that there's a distinction and that the body is able to create that distinction properly.

All of these beautiful organs that help to promote detox,

That help to promote transformation within the body.

These are how your body will hold on to what it needs and how it will discern what it does not.

If we can practice discernment of energy,

Of emotions in our daily life,

The powers of discernment within our body,

Within our organs will become stronger.

Once you feel like you have adequately turned on these organs,

Strengthened their powers of discernment,

Strengthened their powers of transformation and alchemy,

Focus on the skin for a moment.

How does your skin feel?

Does it feel hot?

Does it feel moist?

Is it dry?

We often forget that the skin is one of our most powerful detoxification organs,

That when we find acne or rashes or pretty much any sort of skin ailment,

That is an indicator that our detox is not as efficient as we'd like it to be.

So let's make sure that we focus on our skin for a moment,

That we give it the attention that it needs,

That we thank it for being the barrier between us,

All we have inside of us,

And the outside world.

Once you've expressed that gratitude towards your skin,

See if there are any areas of your skin that feel like they're less awake than others,

Like perhaps circulation is diminished in that area.

If so,

Just place your hand gently on that area and see if you can feel that circulation increase.

See if you can feel a warming sensation where your hand is.

Bring your attention to this area.

See if you can turn it on.

This beautiful area of your skin will work with the rest of your skin,

All of your organs,

To help further detoxification.

Once you've done this,

Tap into the rest of your body and see how it's feeling.

Does it feel more like it's capable of discerning what to keep?

Does it feel like you're ready to go into the world?

Take a deep breath here and visualize again the exhalation of what you do not need.

Do this one more time.

Open your eyes now and know that what you have just done for your body helps you in everything that you encounter,

In the energies that don't serve you,

In the toxins that don't serve you.

Committing to a daily practice or even a weekly practice where you focus in on the body and its systems and how you can help it optimize,

As well as where you in your life can practice more discernment.

This will help your body to detoxify,

To exchange energy efficiently,

And to make sure that you're getting what you need and getting rid of what you don't need.

Thank you so much for practicing today.

I hope to see you again soon on Insight Timer.
