This guided meditation is a practice of letting go of tension and stress and glide into deep relaxation. Drift into peace with effortless ease ... and glimpse the essence of your true self, the real "You", waiting just beyond your thoughts. Like cotton candy clouds … your thoughts appear … drift … float away. You are not your thoughts. “Your thoughts are empty ... and meaningless ... You are not your thoughts.” —from the meditation.

Namaste,

I'm Smita Joshi.

Welcome to my meditation practice,

Drifting Clouds,

Wandering Thoughts.

This meditation is a practice of letting go,

Of mastering your thoughts with ease.

It's a warm August afternoon,

A lazy day in these rolling hills,

Lying leisurely on your back on warm green grass,

Gazing at the clear blue sky.

So pleasant,

Nothing to do,

Nowhere to get,

Just letting go,

Relaxing in peace above and below.

And below,

Now and then,

The blue sky is punctuated with white cotton candy clouds,

Soft white clouds appearing over the horizon,

Gliding towards you.

They hover just above,

Just for a moment,

Then drift away.

Cotton candy clouds,

Meaningless thoughts,

Appearing,

Drifting,

Floating away.

Now here,

Now there,

Observe the clouds passing by,

Floating in the sky,

Sailing in the sky.

Your thoughts,

Rising in your mind,

Fleeting clouds,

Drifting away.

Your thoughts,

Rising in your mind,

Let them go.

Your thoughts are empty and meaningless.

You are not your thoughts,

Nothing to do,

Nowhere to get.

Let the ancient mantra,

Soul hum,

Gently float into your awareness.

Soul hum,

Rising softly in your awareness,

Then floating away,

Disappearing.

Your breath,

Rhythmic music in the silence of your mind.

Your breath,

Rising,

Falling,

Rising,

Falling,

Rising,

Falling,

A soft white cloud.

Simply observe,

Empty and meaningless,

Drifting away.

Soul hum,

Soul hum,

Soul hum,

Lightly rising up,

Rising up,

Floating away,

Puff of cloud on an August day.

Inhale soul,

I am that.

Exhale hum,

That,

Am I.

Inhale soul,

I am pure consciousness.

Exhale hum,

Pure consciousness,

Am I.

Thoughts,

Like clouds,

Wandering,

Merely passing by,

Seeming real,

Important.

Your thoughts are meaningless,

Insignificant,

Hotter.

Let them float,

Let them glide away.

Your thoughts,

Clouds on the move,

Clouds and thoughts,

They spread out,

They gather,

They appear,

Disappear,

They have no substance,

No grasping of clouds,

Can't hold them down,

They appear,

They dissolve and disappear.

Like clouds,

Like thoughts,

Ephemeral,

Fleeting,

Transient,

A warm,

Pleasant afternoon,

The little white clouds punctuating the sunny blue sky,

Then suddenly a rush of cold wind,

Like a gloomy,

Dark thought in your mind.

Clouds begin to gather,

Becoming one heavy cloud,

Heavy cloud,

Eclipsing the sun from white to purple to black.

Clouds swiftly change colour and shape.

Sometimes your thoughts,

Just as menacing,

Casting shadow,

Casting darkness everywhere.

Abruptly,

Birds fall silent,

Sending a shiver down your spine,

Ominous.

All at once,

Your thoughts,

Grim,

They grip you,

Run for shelter,

Darkness,

Engulfing light,

Gloom,

Shrouding you.

Was that thunder,

Roaring far away,

Or just imagination?

Where lightning hit?

Should you be afraid?

Suddenly,

You are hostage to your gloomy thoughts.

Before you know,

Birds chirp again,

Clouds dissolve,

Darkness disappears,

Sun shines through,

Piercing warm rays,

Clear blue skies,

With cotton candy clouds.

Once again,

All is well.

The churning of the ocean creates clouds,

The churning of your mind creates thoughts,

Random clouds,

Random thoughts,

Random thoughts.

You are not your thoughts.

You are not your thoughts.

You are a blissful spark,

Pure consciousness.

So hum,

So hum,

So hum.

Namaste.

Namaste.
