Sit comfortably,

Allowing yourself to rest in your chair or with the floor beneath you.

Let your body relax in the position you choose.

Take three deep breaths.

And with each breath,

Let your body relax into the space,

Into the moment,

And into the exercise ahead.

Three deep breaths.

Letting the breath connect you to a deeper sense of who you are.

And a deeper sensitivity to how you feel and where you are on this journey.

Today,

We will be working with the grounding energy exercise of the inner elevator shaft.

We are energy beings and energy flows.

Source energy is all around us and flows through us,

From the top of our heads through to the soles of our feet.

Where attention goes,

Energy flows.

And so often,

While our thoughts are circulating through our heads,

As our days pass and chores get checked off on a list,

Our energy gets blocked in our heads.

And today,

We will go through a process to unleash those blocks and let the energy flow through your core.

Imagine an elevator that runs from the top of your head down through your core all the way down to the base of your spine.

This is your energy center.

Now imagine that top floor as floor 10.

Here we spend a lot of energy.

And yet,

We need to get down to our main floor at the base of our spine.

Take a deep breath and allow your attention to be at floor 10.

Feel your focus in your eyes and in your head.

And then,

Let the doors of the elevator close and feel the pull of the elevator as it drops to floor 9.

Floor 9,

Sitting in your nose and mouth area.

Take a deep breath,

Letting your attention shift to this area.

And then,

The doors close again to floor 8.

Floor 8,

Find your floor 8 around your throat.

Here,

We can store energy.

If we feel insecure around others or hesitate expressing who we are.

Let your elevator move through your floor 8 and find your floor 7.

Floor 7 is just at the top of your rib cage,

In between your throat and your ribs at the base of your neck.

Breathe deep,

Letting your energy sink through from your head and all the way down to your floor 7.

Doors close and drops to floor 6.

Floor 6 is around your heart area.

Focus your attention to your heart area.

Feel the energy flow through your heart.

Feel freer,

Lighter in all floor areas above your heart.

And then,

Doors close.

Drop to floor 5.

Floor 5 is your sternum,

Just above your diaphragm.

Breathe deep into your floor 5,

Letting your attention down your energy flow.

Downward and downward through your core.

Down this inner elevator shaft.

Doors close.

Floor 4.

Floor 4 is felt around your stomach area,

Your navel.

Feel your tummy button rise and fall as your attention is dropped to this central point of view.

Take three deep breaths,

Ensuring your attention keeps at this central point.

Then,

Doors close.

And find your floor 3.

Floor 3 is in your lower back.

These last three floors are like your last three vertebrae of your spine.

Settle in this floor.

Feel your attention gliding down to your lower back.

And then,

Doors close.

Floor 2.

Gently gliding down to that next last vertebrae.

Breathe deep,

Letting the energy drop and drop.

And now,

Floor 1.

With each breath,

Feel the energy flow through the open space that is above this floor.

And flow out through the bottom of that root core.

Now,

Through this exercise,

Your attention may shift.

You may feel your energy rise to a different floor.

But since you know where each floor rests,

When you feel your energy rise up,

Simply take a deep breath.

Allow the doors to close,

And feel the drop as the elevator descends.

Sit at whichever floor feels comfortable to you,

Knowing that where your attention goes,

The energy will flow.

Knowing that when you feel stressed or anxious,

When your thoughts are swirling through your head,

Your attention is simply building on your floor 10.

At any time of stress or upset,

You can drop your elevator down and simply descend to the main floor to floor 1.

With your energy fully flowing through your core,

Take two more deep breaths and gently open your eyes.
