Susan Meyer integrates nature photography, writing, mindful awareness, and energy work to support presence, awakening, and well-being. She is a contemplative creative whose deep interest in the nature of consciousness, coupled with an appreciation for the natural world, informs both her art and teaching. She is the author of the book River Time: Mindful Reflections from the Upper Hudson, in which she explores the intersection of mindfulness and the natural world, blending poetic insight with visual storytelling. Mindfulness is a central theme woven through all of Susan’s undertakings. She has had a dedicated meditation practice and worked closely with spiritual mentors for nearly 40 years. Susan trained formally with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield and completed both the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program and the Mindfulness Mentor Training Program. She began teaching just prior to the coronavirus pandemic and maintains an active teaching schedule, online and in-person. Susan is an active member of Kingfisher Sangha, a Buddhist community of mindful living in the tradition of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, and an aspirant in the Order of Interbeing. She received a master’s degree in Education from Goddard College, a certificate in Spiritual Studies from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University), and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ithaca College.
