Autumn Tree Of Life - DreamSong Yoga Nidra
by Susie Ro
I invite you to rest deeply into this DreamSong Yoga Nidra. Find a comfortable place to lie down, be warm and cosy, maybe with something covering your eyes, and let go into full rejuvenation. My Nidra sessions always include a healing song (or songs) for you to receive into your heart. Most of these songs are improvised in the moment. Please enjoy!

Welcome to this place,
This exact place that your body rests on.
Welcome to the practice of yoga nidra.
This is your practice,
This is your time.
Nowhere to be,
Nothing to do,
No one to please.
This is your space to drop into your personal unique landscape of the hills and valleys of your being.
Welcoming you to this place at this time,
In perfect and sweet rest.
Allowing each breath to invite your body to melt deeper and sink deeper into the earth.
With each breath allowing the heaviness of your bones to direct your body down.
With each exhale allowing roots to find their way down into the core of the earth.
Settling your being,
Settling into this beautiful deep autumn landscape.
Just noticing if there's any sounds that reach your ears,
Noticing the sound of the silence around the sounds,
Noticing the touch of the air on any exposed skin,
Maybe on your face,
And the heaviness of the cloth,
Maybe blankets,
And the warmth and the comfort and the holding of all that surrounds you,
Your nest.
Allowing yourself to be supported in the kindness of your surroundings.
Noticing your tongue in your mouth,
Just allowing it to be there,
Just allowing it to fall back,
Nothing to say,
Just to be,
Just to be here.
So like the tree preparing for winter in the natural cycle of letting go of your leaves,
Allowing your leaves to fall to the ground.
Beautiful leaves of red and gold,
Golden beach leaf,
Falling gently and gracefully and landing on your eyebrow centre.
Beautiful kiss of the beach tree,
Landing on your eyebrow centre.
Beautiful autumn leaf landing on your upper lip,
On your lower lip.
Sweet red autumn leaf landing on your throat.
Another gracefully touching your right shoulder,
One on your upper arm,
The inside of your elbow,
On your forearm,
Your wrist.
Little golden leaves landing on your right thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
And on your little finger.
Kisses of the trees landing over your whole right arm,
Wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder.
Beautiful red maple leaf landing in the centre of your breastbone and autumn leaf gracefully landing on your left shoulder,
Your upper arm,
The inside of your elbow.
Beautiful golden leaf on your forearm,
The palm of your hand.
Little autumn leaves on your thumb,
Your forefinger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
And one landing on your little finger.
Autumn leaves landing and resting on your whole arm,
Your wrist,
Your elbow,
Shoulder,
And another leaf landing in the centre of your breastbone.
Autumn leaf landing gracefully on your left breast,
On your right breast.
The kiss of an ancient tree landing beautifully on your navel,
Another on your pubic bone,
Right hip,
Onto your right thigh,
Your right knee.
Leaves falling on your shin,
On your ankle,
A leaf planted on the sole of your foot,
The top of your foot,
On your big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe.
Beautiful orange and red leaves all landing on your right leg,
The shin,
The knee,
The thigh,
The hip,
And your left hip.
Kisses from the trees landing on your thigh,
Your knee,
Shin,
Ankle.
Gently pressed into the sole of your foot,
Top of your foot.
Little golden beach leaves on your big toe,
Your second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe.
Your whole leg beautifully graced with these autumn leaves,
Ankle,
Shin,
Knee,
Thigh,
Left hip.
A leaf falling from an ancient tree on your navel,
A leaf,
The shape of a heart,
Falling gracefully to the centre of your breastbone.
Beautiful golden leaf landing on your eyebrow centre.
Graced with the wisdom of these ancient beings,
These beautiful trees,
Raining their blessings over your whole body.
Your whole body touched by the kindness and presence and grounding of these gifts of the autumn,
Teaching us to let go.
Whole body graced by autumn leaves,
Feeling the presence of those leaves over your whole body.
Feeling the presence of the star of a red maple leaf in the centre of your breastbone,
Touching your heart,
Radiating deep earth wisdom into your heart centre,
Rippling the depth of beauty of the natural cycles of this beautiful earth through your whole being.
And as you breathe in,
Feeling a lightness of being that these leaves on your body lift in the breeze of the lightness of your in breath.
And on your exhale,
As you breathe out,
Those leaves,
Feeling the heaviness of those leaves,
Mulching down into the earth of your body with the in breath,
Feeling the lightness of those leaves picked up by the wind and on the out breath,
Noticing the heaviness of the earth of those leaves returning to the ground.
And on the in breath,
The lightness of the leaves and on the out breath,
The heaviness of the earth,
Feeling those leaves down to the ground,
Allowing the breath to continue in that way,
Feeling on the in breath that you are almost the leaf that could be picked up into the wind and on the out breath,
You are returning and recycling back into the autumn earth,
Lifting on the wind and returning to the heavy earth.
This beautiful leaf that you are,
How would it be if you were both lifted in the air and simultaneously planted deep in the earth,
Returning as nourishment for the next tree,
At the same time as being carried on the wings of the wind,
You are returning to the earth to be nourishment for the roots of the tree.
You are both light and heavy at the same time.
You are light as a leaf and you are returning to the roots of your tree,
Letting your breath continue to guide,
Continue to guide you as a beautiful leaf,
Everywhere at once and yet nowhere.
You are everywhere at once and yet nowhere.
