Welcome to this meditative journey to honor the energy of Mabon,
Also known as the Fall Equinox.
Mabon is a harvest celebration that typically falls between September 20 and 23 in the Northern Hemisphere and March 20 and 23 in the Southern Hemisphere,
Depending on the calendar year.
It is a time of balance,
When we experience an equal amount of sunlight and darkness.
It's also a time to both celebrate the harvest and plan ahead for the winter.
We will dive into this energy,
Taking an assessment of what is fully grown and abundant in our lives,
What needs a bit more attention in order to reach completion before winter,
And what we need to release and acknowledge is not yet ready for harvest this season.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position for yourself today.
Bring over any props you might need to get nice and cozy,
Such as pillows or blankets.
And as we will be traveling through an apple orchard in this meditation,
An added bonus that you might want to try is enjoying a cup of hot apple cider or something apple-flavored as you settle into this meditation,
But that is completely optional.
You are welcome to close your eyes or find a fixed point ahead of you to gaze upon.
Start by bringing awareness to your breath.
Take a nice slow breath in.
Exhale,
Sigh it out.
Inhale,
Welcome in any insights from your higher self,
Soul,
Or spirit team today.
And exhale,
Release any resistance you have to receiving these messages today.
Inhale,
Welcome in insights.
Exhale,
Release resistance.
You may return to your natural breathing pattern,
Breathing in and out of your nose at your own pace.
I invite you to imagine that you are standing in an apple orchard.
It's a sunny but cool fall day.
Feel the cool air on your skin and breathe in the fresh crisp air,
Tinged with the slightly sweet smell of the apples.
In front of you are three rows of apple trees.
You are holding a basket in your hand that is ready to be filled as you begin down the first row,
Leaves crunching beneath your feet.
You look up and down at the trees as you slowly move along,
Seeing beautiful red and plump apples.
These apples are fully grown,
Their cycle fully complete,
And now they are being called to be picked and enjoyed.
These apples represent those things in your life that are ready to be harvested at this time.
These are the plans,
Projects,
Wishes,
Or goals that you planted and that are now coming to completion.
These are areas or parts of your life that feel whole and balanced.
As you walk down this aisle,
Consider all that is coming to completion this season,
All that is pleasantly full and abundant,
All the things that are ready to be celebrated.
Select and pick an apple that represents each of these areas and put them in your basket.
I'll let you wander down this aisle,
Losing yourself in these trees for a moment.
With your basket now safely holding that which you are celebrating,
That which is coming to completion,
You can begin now to celebrate.
The next aisle of trees.
As you turn the corner here,
You see there are apples that are not quite ready yet for you to pick.
They are growing but need a little extra love to complete their full cycle.
As you walk alongside the apples on these trees,
Consider the areas of your life,
The projects or plans or goals that don't yet fully feel complete or ready to be harvested.
Perhaps they just need a little more tweaking or attention,
And you want to see them come into their fully grown mature state.
These apples represent these areas in your life.
As you walk down this aisle and take in these apples,
Ask yourself,
How can I tend to these to help them finish up their growth cycle?
Trust that you know what care they need to get to that point.
I'll let you wander down this aisle for a moment.
Now it is time to walk down the third and final aisle.
As you approach these apple trees,
You sense the energy here is a bit different.
The trees don't look as vibrant and healthy.
Instead of seeing plump red apples hanging from the trees,
You see some apples that are quite small,
While others have fallen on the ground and have begun to turn brown.
These apples that didn't reach their full growth represent those plans,
Projects,
Goals that didn't reach completion in this cycle,
Or aren't yet ready to reach their full potential.
It's time for you to let go of and release these in their current form.
This doesn't mean the seeds from these apples can't be replanted in a new place with new intentions,
But as they are currently,
It's time to acknowledge that they have not yet matured.
They are not ready at this time,
Or they are not right for you at this time.
As you walk down this aisle,
Gazing at these apples and considering what needs to be released,
Know that there is no need for shame,
Guilt,
Or disappointment here.
What is being released into the earth can fertilize the soil that breeds future growth.
This is not a loss,
But rather a necessary part of the cycle.
Be content,
Even proud,
Of that which didn't work out or go as planned,
That which is still unfinished.
These bring wisdom and lessons of their own,
And even if things didn't end up where you desired,
Your efforts should be acknowledged.
Trust that this outcome is for your greater good.
I'll give you a moment to walk down this aisle and thank all that is being released,
Allowing yourself to feel lighter with each step.
As you wrap up your walk through the apple orchard,
Pause and hold space for what you are celebrating,
What you will bring further attention or support to,
And what you are releasing.
Express gratitude for the full spectrum that this cycle has brought you.
Hold space now for the intentions you'd like to set or that you are already holding for this season.
See yourself working toward these with joy and ease as you bring your time in this orchard to a close.
Begin to step back now from the apple orchard,
Bring your awareness back to your physical body,
Welcoming any small movements you might need to help you wake your body back up.
Gently blink your eyes a few times to adjust back to the space around you.
With much love and gratitude,
I bring our practice to a close.
I hope that you are feeling more balanced and whole after this practice.
