The Full Moon serves as a reminder to observe your emotional and physical body, as well as anything you might be holding on to. Allow the expansive pull of the Full Moon and tide of your mind and breath to gently carry your intention away, leaving you to feel clearer, calmer and more connected. Welcome to your full moon meditation.

This practice can be done at any time you feel a calling to release and let go of what no longer serves you and is particularly potent during the full moon.

I invite you to make yourself comfortable whether you are sitting or lying down.

Gently lower your gaze or close your eyelids.

Connect to your body as you arrive in this space.

Give yourself permission to let go of the day so far.

Releasing any to do lists and take a deep inhale.

As you exhale,

In your minds eye imagine you are standing on a shoreline at night.

This can be somewhere you have already been or somewhere completely new.

You stand observing the ebb and flow of the ocean by your feet.

You may even allow the cool water to lap over your toes.

In the sky,

The moon is full.

Beaming its white light down onto the ocean beneath.

Its reflection rippling and moving with the tide.

You feel a connective energy with the moon as its light falls on your skin.

Breathe in as you bathe in this light.

Absorbing its cleansing energy.

You notice as the tide moves,

So does your breath.

This inevitable ebb and flow back and forth is as constant as your breath.

Both life forces are sinking,

Moving,

Connecting.

Just as the full moon pulls on the ocean waves to become more expansive.

Your emotional and physical body also becomes expansive.

When you breathe in,

The tide comes in.

When you breathe out,

The tide moves out.

As you stand here,

Gently observing the movement of the ocean and your breath,

Call on something you are ready to release and let go of.

Bring it to your mind's eye,

Trusting that whatever comes up is right for you.

And you can start with a sentence,

I am ready to release,

Or I choose to let go of.

And when you have called upon your intention,

Repeat it.

As you repeat it,

Allow yourself to release it into the ocean by your feet.

You can imagine cupping this phrase or word in your hands as you gently release it into the ocean,

Letting the water take it away.

With every inhale,

The tide absorbs your intention.

And with every exhale,

It takes it further out to sea.

Breathe in a loving breath.

And as you breathe out,

Let go a little more.

Watch how the waves move with your breath,

Allowing your intention,

Thought or feeling to float away,

Drifting out to sea,

Releasing any sadness,

Fears,

Heartache.

Allow the water to soothe you with every cycle of breath.

Breathe in and feel the water gently lapping over your feet.

Breathe out and notice the water cleansing any remnants of your intention that might remain.

As you let go of frustrations,

Clinging,

Hurt or pain.

Feel the ocean absorb your intentions so it is no longer part of your story.

Feel yourself lighter now.

Cleansed,

Calm and connected.

No longer shouldering the burdens of the past.

Allow yourself to breathe with a new sense of freedom.

And with a loving awareness,

Take one conscious deep breath into your belly.

As you start to come back into your body and this space.

Notice the earth beneath you.

Take in the air around you and when you are ready,

Open your eyes.

If you feel there is more to release,

You can repeat this practice as many times as you need.

And remember,

Understanding our stories is part of our journey and so is letting go.
