Welcome back to IFS Meditations and Insights.
I'm Tim Fortescue,
Your guide on this journey toward wholeness through the lens of internal family systems.
Together,
We're creating a sacred space to explore,
Accept,
And love all parts of ourselves.
As we do this work,
We open ourselves to experiencing divine love and living more authentically.
Let's begin.
The intention of this meditation is to return to just a bit of self-leadership.
Begin by finding a comfortable position.
Take a few gentle breaths.
Allow your body to settle.
There's nowhere to go.
Nothing to fix.
Just noticing your inner world.
As you breathe,
Bring awareness to the calm,
Curious presence within you.
Yourself.
You might sense it as a soft light,
A grounded center,
Or a spacious awareness.
Whatever you notice is welcome.
Notice any parts that are active right now.
Perhaps a part that wants to do this meditation right,
Or another that feels skeptical or restless.
Greet each one with kindness.
Let them know they don't have to change or go away.
If one part feels especially strong,
Turn toward it with gentle curiosity.
You might silently ask,
How are you feeling?
Or,
What do you need right now?
Allow its answers to rise without judgment.
Imagine yourself that wise,
Loving presence.
Extending compassion toward this part.
There's nothing to fix,
Only a relationship to build.
Notice what shifts when this part feels seen.
Let the awareness of self expand to hold all your parts.
The tired ones,
The protective ones,
The joyful ones.
Picture them gathering around self.
Each one finding its rightful place,
Because they all belong.
They bring gifts.
Who they are,
Without the burdens they carry,
That make you whole.
Who you are today.
Now ask gently,
What would it look like for self to lead the rest of today?
And listen for a word.
Sense a feeling,
Or see an image.
Be on the lookout for an image,
Or a word,
Or feeling that emerges.
Trust whatever arises.
And then take one more breath.
Thank your parts for being here.
Acknowledge that presence of self one more time.
As you return to life,
Remember you don't need to be perfectly self-led.
Just a drop of self can lead to that critical mass.
It can be enough.
Then,
When it feels right,
You can come back to the present moment,
Bring some life into the body,
Open your eyes,
Or lift your gaze.
Continue about life.
Thanks so much for your courage and showing up for this meditation.
