Welcome,
My name's Tim Worry and today we're going to do a meditation on possibility.
Having a mind of possibility can help us to become more creative,
Creative in our goals,
Creative in solving our problems and more open to our experiences.
Having a mind of possibility helps us to enjoy life and have more peace.
So I'd like to start with a quote from the Course in Miracles.
The quote is,
The miracle comes quietly into the mind that stops an instant and is still.
In meditation such as this we foster and cultivate stillness in our mind,
Stillness to our thoughts quiet and we simply let them go.
We cease to be attached to each individual thought that enters our mind by letting them go,
Letting them pass and becoming peaceful and still in our minds.
Just by becoming,
Becoming still that opens up possibility.
And the mind of possibilities creates space for continuous creative expansion.
Just like the universe is always expanding,
Creating from a place of possibility.
Take a few deep breaths to settle ourselves.
We'll take a deep breath in from our stomach,
Filling our stomach,
Holding it for a moment and just enjoying the feeling of all that oxygen to our bodies.
And then we let it go.
Feel the relaxation in our bodies.
And then we'll breathe in again,
Filling our belly,
Hold onto it for a moment and let it go.
And this time take a deep breath in but imagine all the possibilities coming into your body through the universal energy.
So deep breath in,
Breathe in possibilities.
Hold it for a moment as your body sings.
There you go.
Just let your breathing return to the normal rhythm.
And if you find as we're going through this meditation that your mind starts to wander off onto thoughts that come through,
Becomes attached to some thoughts,
You know that you can return to your breathing,
Return to the sensations at your nostrils as you breathe in and breathe out.
The act of focusing your mind on your breath will release your attachment to your thoughts and create the space for possibility.
So let's just think for a moment about this creative expansion that's going on everywhere and the possibilities that that creates.
From the virtually undetectable subatomic particles that are changing energy levels through bacteria and cells reproducing and dividing,
Molecules combining,
States of matter change from solid to liquid to gas,
To the connecting of objects together to solve problems and create new purposes.
From tiny man-made machines to massive buildings.
From the development of villages to towns to cities and whole countries working together.
From individual droplets of water falling from the sky to forming into puddles,
To streams to lakes and rivers and seas and oceans,
Forming into water vapour,
Into clouds,
Into the atmosphere,
Into the sky beyond the horizon.
From looking at the earth,
The tiny specks of dirt and dust beneath your feet and the ground.
To the earth,
Chunks of rock and stone have compressed,
Dirt and objects forming to the ground.
The rocks of the earth to the land masses of vast countries from which things grow and we all move about on.
The earth through the earth's crust down through the mantle right to the earth's core that we all rest upon,
The centre of the earth.
And the earth itself,
The planet,
Moving out from the earth itself to the moon,
Looking down on earth.
Moving further out past the planets,
Seeing the sun radiating energy for life across the system,
Outside of our own solar system to the stars beyond,
Outside of our own galaxy the Milky Way of which is merely just a small galaxy amongst the stars and beyond to larger and larger galaxies and systems so vast,
So immense.
And within that we are resting,
Just simply breathing our minds attention on our breath.
The mind of possibility.
Today just imagine how easily you can achieve your goals and desires and how easily you can look at any problems that you might face,
Any challenges,
Knowing that with the mind of possibility how easy it will be to work through them.
The mind of possibility needn't be attached to particular outcomes,
Particular solutions,
Just the possibility of them working out or being successful,
Knowing that the universe and everything that we are a part of is in a state of continuous expansion into possibility.
Just to seal this moment and this meditation,
Just breathe in deeply that possibility.
Fill your belly and your mind with the possibility.
Hold it for a moment.
Let your whole body soak it up and then breathe out.
And when you are ready you can return to your day.
